So as normal Sue Powell comings into the TFF shouting and this time asks for a debate about the TFF and when given answers to show she sure has got some things wrong, she fails to come back and reply on the thread. This is not the first time DTG has behaved so badly on a thread we have had on here. On the link below you will see how Jimd reacted to a post made on a thread about Megan getting kicked out of her house. Its post number ten on this thread www.torquayfansforum.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=pop&thread=3187&page=1#33877

I think Rags' excellent piece on keyboard personality cult of 13.8.10 on this thread goes a long way to illustrate DtG's frequent need to alienate himself from anyone he suspects of getting more pleasure out of life than he is. Which by the look of things is just about everybody. I'd say he is a particularly virulent strain of Aspergers' all on his own!

Maybe Sue has been busy doing other things - not everybody checks the forum daily. I thought that she raised some good points in her original post and there were also some very reasonable answers given to some of those points. It may be that she has accepted the answers given or alternatively whilst still disagreeing has nothing to add to her original points that would move the debate forward. It's impossible with over 700 members for everybody to agree on things, and indeed it wouldn't be very interesting if we did, but sometimes I think having made a point there is often no merit in continuing to make it unless there is something significant to add. Sue may have reached that point. This is a well run forum and I think the observations on another forum, albeit really only from one member and nothing to do with the organisers, comes from some strange jealousy. Odd behaviour as he seems to want to discuss a forum he is not a part of rather than issues pertaining to Torquay United, which surely is the reason that attracted all of us to sign up to a forum for Torquay supporters in the first place!

Granted, but he's never claimed to have one of those. You can however, get arrested and sent for trial for theft; and he's got away with murder on that front................and with winter coming on ~ Elliot Benyon would like his jacket back too! Hey, that was my two thousandth post on TFF, but no-one least of all I; noticed it. Not that it was one of my finest I admit, but was I foreseeing that Elliot would be "getting his coat" , metaphorically speaking? ;D I thought at least Aussie would have got his flag out for the occasion.

It's just been pointed out to me how Louis Higgins (now cosmetically re-constituted as "Higgins") is still claiming his site to be the "original Torquay fans' site".No-one's disputing that it is indeed a site for fans of Torquay United, but it is no more the original (which means the one that started it all) than any other site. Even Mervo's wasn't the original ~ I know who's was, but I don't know whether or not they intend that to be public knowledge anymore; but if you know your (Torquay United) history you know the truth.................and the "truth" isn't what Young Higgins or his pals peddle.

Didn`t the club have it`s own fans site that Uncle Mike got rid of because he got asked questions? I also think that we should completely stop talking about other club sites like Dave has asked us! It does no-one any good!

Mervo ran the forum which Mike Bateson said was the offical forum, then Mike Bateson shut it down Mervo set up DOTnet and then gave it to Louis. Merse why dont you just name theforum you "THINK" is the original forum and if they forum you "claim" to be the "original" forum is true then they would tkae action against DOTnet. By the way I do think DOTnet is the original forum. Wheres your proof?

As usual you're talking nonsense Barlow..............one of the people who ran a site BEFORE Merv has just spent an evening with me in a pub in the Home Counties tonight and HE was preceded by someone who is referred to by David Long in Scott Brehaut's link (also tonight) When these people set all this up you must have been around the age of five seeing as it was nigh on fourteen years ago, but then what do I know I've only been following this club for the past fifty years and YOU are a former secretary of TUST aren't you If you want to be taken in by Higgins' bullshit ~ fine, but don't expect those who know better to follow suite.

To further educate young Barlow and anyone else who disbelieves there was life before the advent of the Premiership, I'll tell you that the very first person to run a dedicated Torquay United Internet site was called Ian McArthur and then he was followed in this country by a certain poster on here (not I, I hasten to add!) who might wish to reveal himself or may not ~ that is his perogative and should he not wish to do so we have to respect his privacy. At the same time there was a global TUFC Guestbook taking to the ether started by Merv Scoble from his home in Wiarton in Canada, and has Merv as often expounded to anyone who was interested; he and I go back to our days scroting around the old Cow Shed and Mini Stand in the sixties glory days as well as on numerous adventures up and down the country in pursuit of our favourite football club. I'm just about to go out now to embark on a spot of "Last of the Summer Wining" with my old mate Kipper, but maybe I'll return to this subject later this evening.

I may be wrong, but didn't he actually run the actual first semi-official Torquay United website?

I may be wrong, but didn't he actually run the actual first semi-official Torquay United website? He did, before getting screwed over by Mike Bateson, but Mervo did not run the first Torquay United message board...that was Ian McArthur from Warwick University (well, back in those days anyway, I am sure he has graduated by now!) Mervo got his first membership, I think I am right in saying, by asking Ian for his database when he was unable to run the site anymore, or at least devote a lot of time to it. This was right back in the early days of the internet as the phenomenon it is now. And then there was another excellent site as well, run as Merse says by a member of this forum, the first one I really started reading. I had the pleasure of travelling to Canada to meet Mervo many years ago - a character if ever I met one, and still going strong now in his mad old way! Same trip I managed to meet Graygull as well and we have been communicating ever since, including other visits to lovely Vancouver as well. That reminds me, Gray, I haven't been over for too long now...
