Unless "irritating Merse" is a breach of FIFA regulations! ;D I don't think he is a breach of FIFA regulations. He is irritating though, isn't he? Ha, ha! Very good! ;D

Maradonna is a genius and we would idolise him if he was English.
yes, i hated him for the hand of god incident but his second goal was pure genius.
He has single handed turned the Argentian team around from a position where they nearly didn't qualify. He isn't the greatest coach but his inspiration and drive make up for that.
when they win the world cup, people will eat their words

With this afternoons crunch match for England only hours away I was reading an old Press interview with Fabio Capello. The cultured Capello's appreciation & knowledge of art is far more extensive than I had realised. Even when we narrow things down soley to his management record the successes at Real Madrid,Roma, & Juventus speak for themselves...a highly impressive managerial CV compared to,for instance, that of our friend Diego. Tales from the England training camp suggest that our lads are struggling with an early to bed low alchohol environment. The players Fabio has worked with during his time in Italy & Spain were brought up with this environment & so it was second nature to them. English players can also put up with it for a few days...but at tournaments like the world cup we are talking about several weeks. British players are still a product of the Yoof culture of this country, they need plenty of Karaoke nights stretching into the early hours...beer flowing freely...visting DJ's who will give Defoe & JT a turn on the decks and a visit from the WAGS ever other evening at least. Budleigh's favourite comedian Frankie Boyle & a few of the others should have been flown out specially to entertain the lads & maybe a few of the girls from Hollyoaks. Fabio is nonplussed by their frustrations and has alledgedly wondered out loud why they cannot read a book or take a stroll around the grounds in their non training time. This clash of cultures just isn't working out...England needs a Chav manager...preferably one covered in bling who will be first one up on stage to grab the microphone & sing 'vindaloo' when the karaoke starts & who can advise the lads on the best places to get hold of knock off Rolexs while in South Africa. Being able to drink with the best of them while joining in the banter & recalling how he got his shotgun & blasted the press men rather than just shouting at them would only strengthen the bond between manager & players. The evidence is clear & overwhelming...once this World Cup is over the F.A must do everything it can to get Diego Maradona as the next Manager of England.

But we had one.................. El Tel, we don't need El Perro. I often smiled at the hackneyed phrase "crack foreign outfit" wondering why the English press always applied it to any side from the other side of the Straights of Dover ~ then along came Maradona!
