JimD sent me the link that he found when i requested if anyone had alink to the old Nettist Game Team pics. The link has the pics for the teams involved in 2000, 2001 & 2002....Dave mentioned in the past maybe posting them on here. This is the 2002 pics, the one i was involved in. Anyone recognise themselves in them? Brazil United Chivas De Marmite Global Wanderers Mervo Magic Players on the day included Roy Macfarland who looks happy as larry in the Wanderers team and the late David Preece. Notice the ill fitting shirt on mine and the beer belly approaching. Well i had stopped running marathons a year before and went on the bitter!! Blimey though i tower over them all...My moment that will never go from my memory was skinning Dickie HJ - in Brazil pic - andhe deserved it!!! Let us know if you are in the pics. 2000 & 2001 can also be posted if you want! there is NO escape!

In the Chivas De Marmite line up I've spied the revolutionary hero and rumoured real life father of Mrs Roberts love child, Vladimir Ilyich Lenin - front row, bottom left. Come to think of it, I've often seen him skulking around on our travails of the lower reaches of the Beautiful Game; sometimes shamelessly donning a big fur Russian hat. (well that's the best I could come up with!) No doubt he'll be waiting for the "Necropolis Train" to take him to Woking on Saturday. If you "spy" him, don't forget to let the Mail On Sunday know!

I was in the first ever nettist game (I think the photos were in black and white) Wes Saunders played for us on that day, and I remember that I tackled Paul Compton causing him to limp off and go to the stands sporting a rather nice bandage on his leg!! Somebody actually wrote match reports for the year I was playing - the same guy who maintained the Barnstaple Gulls site (Cant remember his name) Anyway, people I recognise are: In Brazil United the goalkeeper is Kevin Oates, and the guy on the left of him (our left) I am sure needs no introduction!! The guy to the keepers right I think I am right in saying is Marv - part of the Yorkshire Gulls I reconise the keeper in Chivas, but cant remember his name. In Global Wonderers I know the following: Top left: Matt Hoare, dont know, Dayle Burton, Roy Mac, dont know, Justin somebody. Bottom left: Dan Harmer, John Harmer (baygull), Del Hoare, dont know, dont know. In Mervo Magic I only recognise the guy on the far right at the top.....cant remember his name though Whatever happened to the Rev? Or Jim D? I thought they played in all the games?

Here are the pictures from the first year the Nettist match took place: Global wonderers Top left: Cant remember name, Dayle Burton, Derek Hoare, Dan Harmer, Matt Harmer, Gemma Dicks?, Wes. Bottom left: Justin, John Harmer, Rev Richard Hughes, Me Brazil Cant remember many of these - Kevin Oates is the goalie and Jim Dicks is on the bottom row second from the right Chivas Dont remember any names from this photo (although I recognise the goalie) Mervo Magic Again, not many people I recognise - I think Softy Walter (Simon A) is the goalie, and Paul Compton is on the far right on the top row. Great memories - if I recall correctly Mervo Magic won the competition too

I only played in two of the matches...age caught up with me and I wasn't fit for anything for days after the games so I retired gracefully.
They were great days though...I remember being booked for unfatherly conduct after I made a perfectly good tackle on Gemma.
Mike batesons commentry was a laugh too.

What memories! Love Mike on the Mic. And those saves I always made. Each manager would come up to see if they could sign me up. Still got that keepers top!

I'm the one next to David Preece. bottom row, most right. We (Global Wanderers) won the Nettist Game in 2002 on penalties, guess who scored the winning penalty

Mervo magic, front row first left in the first nettists games..I'm sure we had Ryan Northmoor guesting for us, who was a pretty decent midfielder if I remember.

Will upload what I have soon. I think there were only a few of us to play in every one? Could this ever be done again?

I'm also there in Mervo Magic, front row, second from the right (next to girl whose name I've forgotten - sorry!). I definitely remember Ryan Northmore coming on in a kind of right wingback role for us, because i played a one-two with him. Horrific weather that day, windy and wet, and I think it was just after we beat Macc Town 3-2 after being 2-1 down (to a 45-yarder from Macc in 1st half); we scored a Healy penalty in the 80th min and a last minute winner from Eifion. Good times.
