FL2: Bournemouth v Torquay United 28th Dec 2009

I have actually just sent an e-mail to the Football League, asking them to obtain a copy of the DVD and thereafter debar this Mr Singh from ever again officiating at a match higher than Ryman or Isthmian League level.

I'm not holding my breath in anticipation of any action, but someone had to try and draw their attention to how clueless this fellow is.

Lower league poor officials strike again by the sound of it. I know Stewart and know any thing he says like that is not meant with any malice. We should get better refs cos it's real "proper" football outside the prem. Blood and guts stuff !!

....Well that's football and sport for you, kicks you in the teeth every now and then, having been to Bournemouth last time (the 96th minute equalizer) it's hard to believe that history would repeat itself.....but it did and this time it was worse, bloody heartbreaking in fact.

We had played so well against a good side.......despite the fact that we outplayed them in every department, they never gave up and they scrapped and fought like a team should in their lofty position, against a lesser side in this league then it might have been a 3 or 4 nil'er easily.......Bournemouth should go up comfortably, teams that can turn games like that into wins, albeit with a large slice of (maybe ) helpful refereeing get promotion.......end of.

1st half we did most of the pressing without creating many clear opportunities, Zebroski had the best chance but his shot from 10 yards was on the tame side, B'mouth created very little of note and to be honest it had goaless draw written all over it, we also had a hell of a lot of corners but never threatened to score with any of them, something that needs to be worked on..........i suppose that is one of the downsides to not having Nicho and Sills in the side these days.
The 2nd half was terrific, end to end high tempo stuff, we deservedly took the lead on the hour with Rendell steering the ball home well from 10 yards.......if only he had managed to convert one of the other chances that fell to him........as a second would have settled it. Bournemouth pushed us back as the 2nd half wore on and the defending, full of guts and determination, became a little more frantic......still they didn't look like scoring.......until they did a few minutes from time, when a ball broke fortunately for them on the edge of the box and the lad shot across Poke, who had looked so secure, into the far corner.
Even then we didn't sit back we had a couple of good opportunities to win it again, when fine runs from Benyon and the MOM Smith led to the ball just needing to be touched in by someone....anyone!!!

Then came THE talking point......deep into injury time, the ball was hopefully lifted into our box, up went Fletcher and Robbo neither won the ball and both players ended up in a heap around the penalty spot........from 70 yards away it was impossible to tell what had happened but you kind of knew that Mr Singh, who had done his best to steal the limelight from an entertaining game with (8-10??) mostly ridiculous bookings was going to have the last word and he did.........it looked a soft pen from my view BUT it was evident in the 2nd half that neither of our centre halves could cope with Fletcher's power and ariel threat..........and we also know that Robbo is prone to jumping into the man too much, this maybe was a pen waiting to happen.

It still felt totally unjust and credit to the players for making us look like a play off team, even though now, after this defeat then that dream is probably now gone.

Never going to do that trip again, pre match there seemed nowhere else to park apart from that bloody car park........even though i was parked close to the ONE and only exit for 1000's of cars to leave by, it still took an hour (again!) to get out.....totally unacceptable, then the 100 miles of horrible windy roads to top it off.....no thanks.

Could you do me a favour and ask what the FA intend to do with todays £2,000 windfall?

Each club will be fined £1,000 for having 5 or more players cautioned. Unbelievable especially when from memory I can't remember either physio coming on the pitch to treat a player for an ill timed challenge (before the final whistle).

The charge will be failing to control players.

Thanks treetopsringwood, I was there with two mates one who was connected to the club at the time.After having a greasy old breakfast in some dirty nearby cafe he told us he had just been given some free tickets.

We sat in our seats and jumped up when Davy ran from the halfway line and scored a great goal, only no one else around were celebrating. We sat down quickly and did not repeat our celebrations when he went and done it again

Like JMGull, I was there when we let in a 96th minute equalizer at Bournemouth a few years back. I have to also agree that, with such luck, they must be nailed on for promotion this season,

In answer to the question, has the ref ever officiated at Plainmoor before, I have certainly seen him ref at Plainmoor. He completely lost control of the game in the second half and it seemed for a period that he was refereeing by the noise of the crowd. Mansell's booking, I'm afraid to say, was deserved, as he kicked out at Connell after the foul was won. Poke appeared to be booked for asking the ref where he needed to a free kick from.

We were the better of the two sides today and certainly played better than we did on Saturday. Thomson was lively and I was a little surprised to see him taken off. Smith was my Man of the Match. Both defending and going forward he played with a maturity well above age. Wish he'd have been a bit greedier in the 92nd minute, though! Rendell looked hopeless in the first half, though gained a second wind after cooly finishing Thomson's cross from the left. Poke made a couple of good stops before Feeney's well taken piledriver from the edge of the box.

The referee ruined Christmas moments later, but I'm not down as I reckon the players annoyance with this reverse will steel them over the coming weeks. We do not look like relegation fodder. And we will not be.

Nice to see Jon and meet other TFF'ers in Barton and Ricardo today. Hope the missus didn't clean you out at the shops! In fact, what a turnout from the Yellow Army. Blinding. Enough in itself not to let that Grinch in the middle completely steal Christmas.

So, anyway, I get home and you'll never guess what nimby's are on the local news moaning about how adversely effected their little corner of London is on matchdays. Merse, are you Gunner tell us why that is?

Anyhows. A promising display and I do hope Brighton get the backlash so the Board can throw money about after Old Trafford in the 4th. We'll be midtable. No worries on that score.

Just seen a quick clip of the penalty footage on the local news.
It was given for a push by Mansell on Pitman.......who has gone down as if shot! Hard to tell but Mansell was the "wrong side" of his man.

Still looks a horribly soft'un though.
