Cant wait till the match. It`s shining outside and hopefully the sun will still be shining on Torquay United come the end of the day. I think O`Kane needs to start on the wing with Carayol on the bench then coming on for O`Kane in the 60th minute (or vica versa). We did go to Northampton without anyone giving so much as a sympathetic smile at the thought of us losing but we could have nicked it and so why not today against Rochdale.
I know it will be harder and if we do lose than it wont be the end of the world, we`ll still be out of the relegation zone come the end of the day.

Well obviously we will be out of the relegation zone but a 4 point gap with a Grimsby home game won't look so clever. Whatever justification you can make for O'kane starteing instead of Carayol who is our form player at the moment is beyond me. Dave- yes it is a glorious day and lets hope we can spring a big suprise. Realistically though if we can maintain the seven point gap over Grimsby at five o'clock I will be happy. Then its back in the car for a mad rush back to Ilfracombe Towns ground to watch my sons win the North Devon Journal Cup Final.

I base it on the fact that Muzzy is getting tied. At Northampton he was looking tired towards the end of the game; he did had a good game and is on form but like I said I would still be happy if Muzzy starts and O`Kane comes on (The bit where I said vica-versa, ion my previous post).

Is seeing one magpie twice (not the same one I think) the same as seeing two magpies?

Rochdale will be in a party mood and need the win to ensure promotion which is a probably a forgone conclusion in any case so they should be relaxed which is always dangerous especially if they have a big expectant following. Make no mistakes we are the underdogs by a long way which may just work in our favour. We have to work hard and concentrate for the ninety minutes, as we have in the last two games and hopefully get something, anything out of a game nobody expects us to. Heres to an entertaining and mentally straining afternoon. So whats new?!!

Can't wait for this one. Whatever happens maintaining the 7 point lead over Grimsby is vital.
Pivotal game of the season. Praying for at least 1 point but expecting 0. As long as Grimsby lose anything else is a bonus.

Just about to head-off. It's going to be a massive challenge for the team today. I wouldn't be surprised if O'Kane starts on the wing - the performacne that he put-in against Dagenham (and indeed the whole team) kept things solid - something that we need to be against the best Rochdale side for many years.
I can't see Hereford getting anything against Grimsby. They will be using a few of their squad players today and are probably starting to relax. I'd be delighted if we kept the gap at 7 points come the final whistle today, but even if we don't, there is a lot of football left to play this season and anything can happen.

Incredibly 3-0 up at half time with a three goal blitz (28, 30, 34 mins) from Rendell and two Benyon headers! Perhaps we are in for a happy afternoon although both Cheltenham and Grimsby are leading too. I wouldn't like to be a Rochdale player crammed into that tiny little dressing room at Plainmoor trying to repair the damage and prepare for the second half.......................one of those "promotion day nightmares"! Maybe I can win a hundred quid on the National too, I certainly need it ~ we'll know everything come 4.50pm!

I have been updated by Jeff on Sky Sports and Teddgull ---an amazing 45 minutes. When the afternoon started and you see Lincoln/Grimsby and Cheltenham all go one up you start thinking this is like watching a bad film but then things start to change. I am not counting any chickens as I have been following them too long to expect anything but it will sure make my day in Grimsby next week a little easier with a big three points today. Fingers crossed for the next 45 minutes and heres to "Hello Bud" and Chelsea double!!! Cheers

What a fantastic result ;D The team were superb(from the commo i heard). Difficult to say who to praise. Our defence kept the prolific dale forwards non existant and that provided the foundation for the performance. An excellent team effort all around and fans. Obuckle tripped over his luck again. How does this team lose to lincoln and grimsby but trounce the best team in the league? Hmmm. Is it down to the players?

What a great day and what a brilliant atmosphere in the Torbay sunshine. I've picked up one of those 'Strange Rituals' dilemmas as well. Because I had to go straight to the ground from a work appointment I needed to look reasonably smart but didn't want to wear a suit, so I slipped on a black blazer, grey trousers, and a Torquay United tie. First time I've worn that this season and look what happens. Will have to continue I suppose, although not long to go now. Great to meet Dave briefly too clutching at least three full notepads so it's going to be some match report this evening! Well can't stay in after that so it's off to the Exchange in Ivybridge to console the Argyle supporters. I really love this fixture. Rochdale ... at Home!

He said 'That was a top of the table performance but not from the team who are top of the table.' It's difficult to disagree with him. My choice in the TFF Poll for player of the season big fearsome 'Pickles' was outstanding today, but really it was very much a team performance with everybody working really hard for each other.

Is this the Grand National thread then? Far more important events to be concerned with the main one being us stuffing the leaders in the division by 5 with no return. A magnificent performance and for once we get what we thoroughly deserve. It could so easily have been six or seven and what a day to remember and one to cheer up Dave after his bad week! There will be plenty of reports but my quick synopsis is fantastic work rate for 90 minutes from the entire team, rode our luck early on without pressing the panic button when Rochdale looked like they thought that they just have to turn up, and would see us off with a slick passing game and a couple of very near misses. After the storm was weathered we stated to look a real threat with one outstanding save from a Rendell header kept them in it but within ten minutes we were one up, two up and then three up. Dreamland had arrived at Plainmoor and in some style. Had to pinch myself a couple of times and then half time arrived and surely we couldn't squander a three goal cushion could we? Well its happened before and the first 15 minutes of the second period were going to be so important, both sides knew it and Rochdale HAD to get back into the game early they threatened for ten minutes without really hurting us we broke won a pen and scored end of story. After that the pretty pretty but ineffective football of Dale faded away there supporters who turned up to celebrate promotion looked bereft and in despair. Then no five a wonderful individual effort from our "new signing" Mussy Carayol who has suddenly realised that with his talent he really could go all the way he is reborn and has come of age in the game at just the right time. Watch it tonight on the FL show if they happen to give us 2 minutes you wont be disappointed. ;D A top of the table performance but not from Rochdale as Dales Manager hill said after the game. So who did win the National then??
