Well--thanks heaven thats over. Looking through my normal glasses that has to be a good point I suppose. As long as we keep ahead of the bottom two thats all that we can ask for. Apparently Branston MOTM (again!!).
I think I will now retire to a darkened room and await a visit from our man in the east!! I am sure he will have some comments to make ......................night all

Yes they'll be dancing in the streets from Stratton to the Magic Roundabout tonight and why not to the dulcit tones of the chubby little Blackpool housewives? ;D Will dad be sleeping in his St Pauli shirt by way of celebration then? I certainly will ~ in mine that is not his..................we might be mates but not that close!

He got home late afternoon and was greeted with the news there was a leak behind the washing machine and the hot tap on the bath was seized up. One hour to sort leak out and then up to the bathroom. New fitted bath panel( by a pro) took ages to get off and tap was not repairable and Do it all up the road had sold out of the new ones I needed( same as sink taps and from Do it all) so ended up having to pay £65 for a bath mixer tap that matched the sink taps and then could not get the old taps off but did in the end and to top my day off the bloody forum had problems and the team only drew.

Thank the one upstairs for that ! No good for my blood pressure...think I need stronger tablets ! ............................try to stop being all bitter and twisted about the manager then. If the changes he has made hadn't been done this season we'd have still struggled believe me and at least a head start has been undertaken for next. We've read all sorts of rubbish on here over the past few days about Thomson leaving, Caryol being finished and Smith going back to Spurs but in reality the manager has just been systematically getting on with preparing his sides within the parameters allowed between various illnesses and injuries. People need to settle down and "compartmentalise" the season as it progresses through the last third now rather than rush around like headless chickens insulting, undermining and generally spreading an air of panic and dissolution. The gap between us and Grimsby has been maintained tonight, as has the margin between us and Cheltenham; and we have chipped another point away between us and Lincoln. Look at things positively, think about what can be achieved instead of constantly bemoaning what has gone on. This club has enough history of relegation fighting for the fans to take it in their stride and for them not to let their frustrations get through to the players who after all are a young bunch many of whom facing this fight for the first time in their careers. Just as our goal difference can be the "extra point" so the fans can be the "extra man" ~ as long as they keep their heads; as long as they stay onside.........................and that includes YOU Ajax, you're old enough to know better!

Well I'm off to bed now having got home minutes before kick off having stood around the training ground in sleet and bitter winds dressed in my usual multi layered garb including self heating body skin, neoprene and fleece goalkeeping jersey and heavy duty tracksuit including two pairs of bottoms, two pairs of socks and thermal hat, gloves and scarf. Been sytematically stripping off through the game whilst demolishing a curry, then a chocolate and real cream cake whilst trying bravely not to knock the headphones off. We had a little celebration and farewell tonight for Anthony's A Class clubmate and Arsenal Development colleague Roshan (eleven years old) who has decided to accept a place at the Barnet FC Centre of Excellence..........a reward for all the hard work he has put into developing some great football technique to go with the fantastic turn of speed he possesses. I've told him I don't want to see him tearing up the Torquay United defence in a few years time, and if he does I'll break his kneecaps! ;D

I am old enough Merse its just that I cant take much more of it !!
I am the "extra man" at Plainmoor as least it so often feels that way as I seem to be the lone voice in trying to be positive and constantly shouting encouragement from the enclosure and I berate my friends who stand with me as all they do is moan. Especially a large gentleman who you also know Merse !!
Its a HUGE gamble to think that young loanee players will keep us up. I hope to God they can but if it backfires well the consequences dont bear thinking about.
Players like Adam Smith and Jake Thomson show planty of promise but it would appear that Guy Branston is the shining light of our team at the moment. Who would have thought that ! An old warhorse if ever there was one ! Experience....
We are missing strength in midfield Tyrone Thompson isn't it for me, especially alongside Nicky Wroe. I will admit to not seeing him play away from Plainmoor where he apparently plays better but he could hardly play worse ! He wasnt a regular in the BSP but is considered good enough for league two ? Dont get that one ! Need an old head in there as well.
Hopefully when the experience of Wayne Carlise and the much improved Scott Rendell return then hopefully the wins that we so desperately need will come.
I dont want to see us playing Histon in a league game next year !

Just back from Cheltenham, not sure how it sounded from the radio, but from the damned cold seats it was awful. That point is payback for all the times we apparently we unlucky this season. With the exception of Bevan, we were second best all over the park, I don't think we won a tackle in midfield all night.
Benyon worked hard, but is far too easily muscled off the ball, best kept as an impact, 20 minute sub. If only we had a decent front line he could come on for.
Blatently obvious to anyone that we have a team made up of kids and loanees, and thats just not going to cut it.
Is Rowe-Turner a step up from Nicholson? In a "letting the ball bounce and slicing it" competition maybe I guess, but as a league defender?
Never really rated Rowe whenever I have seen him in the league, and tonight did nothing to change my opinion. As for Tyrone Thompson....oh dear, can we send him back out on loan someplace.....far, far away.
Officials were of the same standard as the rest of the match.
Performance was just as bad as the last 2 seasons we had in the league, and it's so depressing. Only the thought that Grimsby and Darlington are even worse than us stops me necking this enture bottle of scotch! Thought the boos at half time were a bit out of order, but it's understandable when you've watched that dross.

Having to try and sort out the problems on the forum tonight, I struggled a bit to follow the game on the radio. Steve B summed it all up very well and it was clear we were very poor in the first half. No bite at all in midfield and so lightweight upfront. I though Barnes was going to be a real strongman for us but it sounded as if he was getting knocked off the ball as easily as Benyon was.
It was maybe understandable that both Sills and Hargreaves were mentioned by him and it is a major concern that our league future depends on very young and inexperienced players. But the facts remain that this is the team we do have now and there is not a lot we can do about it accept support it the best way we can.
We did seem to be much better in the second half and it was good to see Muzzy get the goal and he is yet another player I have found hard to understand why he has been out in the cold.
Nico for me should be playing as he has the experience we need and Branston sounded like he had a first class game tonight as did Mark Ellis. Time for Bucks to look at the players we do have at the club who for what every reasons seem out of favour, I’m sure a good mix of them with a few of the younger players will see our best chance of staying up.
