A bit of a surprise as I would have said they may have got to the semi finals as an outside bet but England keeping their form well and now in the final.
They have certainly played well in this tournament and all players chipping in with performances rather than relying on the odd few. The bowling against Sri Lanka was excellent and had them totally lost, it was like watching them trying to swat flies as our slow bouncers were missed. ;D Looks likely the old enemy Australia will be in the final and they play a similar style to ours so will be a great final as long as we dont turn up on the day.

For the non cricket followers on here and in football terms the Aussies were 3- 0 down tonight going into injury time and won . Unbelievable

Unbelievable You mean that yet again, a cricket team representing this country "choked" and fell short...................quite, quite believable. I find a response like this very irritating and it is a typical view shared by many football fans. They live in a land were all other sports are only played by public school old boys and failed footballers. They are unable to give credit to these athletes and often decry any achievement, especially that of the national team. In this case, the cricket team were denounced by a football fan who did not even know the competition results. Cricket and Rugby spring to mind but if football is the only sport that exists I guess its every thing else. I am a football fan and sportsfan who finds most sports interesting. Silver spoon in mouth or not, I am prepared to give anyone credit for reaching the top of their sport and it baffles me why many other people can't do that too! Anyway I have been selected to play cricket against Plymstock seconds this afternoon. As a football fan can I do that or not?

Of course you should go for it but that`s what you would expect an Aussie to say because that`s how we are! You must want to win all sports you can participate in and you must always give everything to the cause, it makes sense, don`t even think about it do it, you know it`s the right thing to do!

I was doing text commentary on the game last night and I have to say it was one of the greatest sporting comebacks I have ever reported on. I had them dead and buried, as did the punters on Betfair apparently, and then comes a resurrection from the most unlikely of sources...Mike Hussey, Mr Cricket, a player not really known for his quick scoring. Sixteen runs off the penultimate over, eight of them coming in hard-run twos, then Mitchell Johnson gets a single off the first ball of the last over to leave them needing 17 off 5 balls....6, 6, 4, 6! A 53-run winning partnership, with Hussey getting 48 of them and ending up with 60 runs off 24 balls...absolutely brutal! Makes you wonder about these Pakistan players again, but this time I don't think any one of their bookies was involved, this was just pure class from Hussey.

They live in a land were all other sports are only played by public school old boys and failed footballers. As a matter of fact I love cricket. Test matches are great, limited overs too but 20/20 is like a Punch and Judy show as far as I'm concerned, it just doesn't interest me. I've stopped bothering with following any England team at either cricket or rugby as I can't stand constantly losing out to Aussies and South Africans of far harder mentality and superior will to win. No, cricket or rugby isn't the preserve of the public school old boy, you only have to watch good district league cricket, or South Wales or Westcountry club rugby to realise that. But it still carries an air of that at MCC, Twickers and admin level and that's what makes them such a laid back bunch of losers that are an insult to the nation. Who the feck wants to spend an afternoon surrounded by hee hawing Nigels and Tarquins, a bunch of twarts dressed up as Super Gran, or middle class bullies who delight in a rampaging attack that leaves soemone with a smashed nose and losing blood like it's going out of fashion? You can go to Wembley and watch Barrow play in the FA Trophy Final and get that anyway.

Fielded like a showroom dummy, dropped a catch, and got out in the third over with my team trying to chase down 250. Always next week and maybe tomorrow Aussie Or Merse. GIVE UP

The ignorance of CLING ONS , or people like you Merse is what cheeses me off.
