That'll be the same Micky Somers they called Micky "Holmes" in one of the captions then! 1965 is such a long time ago that Micky Holmes - who played for us nearly twenty years ago - wasn't even born until the September of that year. I became ten towards the end of 1965. It's a sobering thought that, for a ten-year-old now, those matches against Tottenham would appear rather more distant than our our first games in the Football League would have done to me in 1965 (and almost as "historical" as the end of WW1!).

How many people know that Micky Holmes, Matt Elliott and Wes Saunders are all brothers in law having married three sisters during their time at Torquay United?
