Yes what is it to be fellow fans, this is the team of players we have at our club, any changes will only come in January. Now I have just arranged to have Berryhead shipped out to Thailand, so Dave Shaw and put himself out of his misery. We know we are not happy with the results, the team lineups etc, but we can't change any of that. So do we all just keep moaning and looking to find blame to lie on Paul Buckle, If we do is that going to change a single thing, the answer is no, it won't. As fans of TUAFC we have all known some very dark days, lived with the Batesons, who only wanted us to know, we should only be a non league team, that we would never be going anywhere too soon. We all know those dark Webb days and still here we are today, with people running the club, who we could have only dreamed would. People who are TUFC fans and guess what? they want what you want, to take this club to great new heights. They have backed the manager, worked on many parts of the ground, tried to make the Plainmoor experience better for the fans, so I ask the moaners, do you think you deserve to have a board like we have now. I'm as disappointed as anyone else, with the start of the season, I have said we need to see how the team shapes up after 12 games, lets please not getting down or start thinking our season is over, before it has had chance to even get started properly. Do you not think Buckle is as upset as we are, do you not think he now knows he has maybe got somethings wrong as the team is not performing. Do you not think he is working to try and put those things right, yes we know he is and he has to be given that chance. If he fails then by all means call for his head, but after only three games, I think some need to think back to all our dark days and be glad that at our club now we do have a bright light and in time it will shine. So what is it to be? moan and complain, or start doing our part to support our football team. The one that may not have even been here if Roberts had not been stopped.

I personally am not worried about our start. 3 games 43 to go. If we get to 16 to 20 games and things look bad then call for his head but for me i still feel we will win the title.

That is the essence of the situation Dave, it doesn't matter what effort has been made there is too big an element amongst our support that can't wait to be negative, can't wait to get on people's backs and seem incapable of taking a balanced and reasonable view of the situation. Just look at the readers' comments on the Herald Express site, comment after comment failing to even grasp the bleedin' obvious that this side is a work in progress.................with so many new arrivals to absorb, how could it be anything else? There's one "Village Idiot"on there taking issue with me making a valid illustration that there can be NO success whilst the crowd are on the players' backs, yet what is his ( Barry Cryer's) sole contribution? Sarcastic asides that the totally unrelated budget on infrastructure (and thus value for money improvements for the supporters) is totally wasted in his opinion. Obviously the type of local who would prefer standing huddled up against a tin shack on Barton Downs than enjoying the very good facilities that the club are endeavouring to offer at Plainmoor!

Not THE Barry Cryer surely? Although I do admit, I much prefer trundling off to lower non-league grounds around the country and watching football being played by people who do it for the love of the game, not the money. Plainmoor no longer has the grasp on me it once had.

I think I sit somewhere in the middle here and I wonder if others may feel the same.
I personally would not be calling for PB's head. I dont support the booing so early in the season but to a point I understand why.
I dont pretend to know an awful amount about football tactics, i never have but I can see when players are out of position. It worries me that players who were not starting last season are now starting when we have brought in new (and seamingly better) players.
There are of course two ways of looking at this, you could say that it is still early days and you could say look at the last dozen or so games from last season and this season. Clearly we are not good enough at present and I have some sympathy for Dave shaws perspective of questioning whether PB has learnt from mistakes.
I have been away and therefore have not seen many games, I did see the ebbsfleet shocker and unfortunately it reminded me of the last games last season. Players too far back, difficulties playing the ball out and the consequence is that we just do not make chances and resort to the long ball. I dont agree with merse's comments about there being too big an element of fans who want to criticise. Most fans realise the huge changes made and really appreciate it but equally so they pay hard earned money to be entertained and see results. They worry about whether this manager is up to it and if he is learning from mistakes.
My neighbour is an intelligent, succsessful businessman. He attends every game and supports no matter what. He is not a "boo boy" but he is also a realist. His comments after the game on monday were telling. For the first time ever he questioned PB's ability this week.
He is no village idiot and will always go to plainmoor but just now he (and I) are concerned about whether our style of play (ie hit and hope) is all we can do at the moment, and if so is this enough?
Like I say, I am not booing or calling for PB's head but I do think there is a space between questioning tactics and being overtly and unecessarily critical
