Good, the thought of that piece of sh1t raising the world cup in our name disgusted me. Nobody is perfect and we all have faults but some people are just scum. Another good point DTG....far better that the trophy is raised by somebody who misses drugs tests or his mate who starts fights in nightclubs ;D

Can't say i'm happy about that choice either tom. I mean, we know they're not saints but there has to be some lines you don't cross within a team. Tempers flaring from time to time are the managers responsibility to deal with. Misbehaviour and stupidity (we've all been there in our youth!) outside the team are dealt with by other authorities. But anything that affects team spirit especially from your captain is a no no. Terry is scum, not just for his recent twatishness but for his regular thingy behaviour.

I in no way condone his behaviour but boy the press are on his case over here (ok perhaps he deserves it). Lose in the World Cup it will now be JT's fault and in some ways I just wish he would withdraw (bad choice of word?) from the squad totally and let them get on with it. However I can still see Ferdinand/Gerard getting injured/suspended/dropped and then who you gonna call???

Wasn't aware about the uk press lynch mob, they're equally scummy. Their double standards are beyond hypocracy along with politicians.
I think Capello has a job on his hands to not let this affect the team. I'm sure Terry's england teamates are less than impressed with his behaviour. But you don't have to like someone to work with them. Let's hope Capello has it under control.
Maybe we should be sounding out Carragher over his retirement? Or there will be another player who suddenly shines (can't think of one) so we can leave terry at home. If not we'll have to hope he doesn't poison the team spirit.

What did John Terry do wrong?? It's basic football principals, if the left back leaves a hole then the centre back must fill it!! ;D Pure genius, laughed till it hurt with that one! Best post of the week by far!

The tabloids are a disgrace to humanity but so are some footballers, my angle is `if you want the money and fame that comes with being a glamourous Premier League or international footballer then you have to take the whole package of press and publicity that comes with it, you can`t just cherry pick the good bits`! Massive mansion houses, Bentley and Rolls Royce cars, top class models for wives, salarys that take most of us take years too earn gained in one week, retiring in your late thirties with god knows how much money to enjoy! Well if the small sacrifice of not knobling someone elses missus is too much for them then that just shows how pathetic these people really are! And I haven`t even started on expectations of youngsters and them learning this kind of behaviour from their supposed role models! Players like Micheal Owen should be praised more for their impecable track record of behaviour and ability, maybe there should be a gong of some sort awarded by the F.A. and the Queen in partnership for outstanding rolemodelling and leadership! Cappello obviously doesn`t know the history of some of the players very well because dropping Terry and then choosing Rio the boozer, drug test avoider and love cheat is sort of jumping from the frying pan into the fire!

The tabloids are a disgrace to humanity................... .........................and they wouldn't exist if dumbos didn't buy them. In the "quality" papers, read by people with a proper sense of perspective and common sense; the coverage has been restricted to the effect this sordid tale has had from a football point of view...................and by "sordid" I am not being judgemental on Mr Terry but on the pathetic pack hound press corps of the tabloids. I have a friend of mine who has a good education, and has a full and quality driven journalistic background yet earns his living writing for (and thus spends his time chasing the most purile of subject matter) one such comic. What John Terry has been involved in is no different than many, many people (including journalists) get up to ~ I've lived a varied love life myself ~ it doesn't effect the way he performs as a footballer and it would have no effect whatsoever on any other aspect of the game were it not for the sensation seeking and frankly cynical press who rub their hands with glee whenever they sense a story of this nature. It's like Avram Grant. When he goes for a massage it's all over the papers; when I do the same who gives a flying fig? After all, if most of their readership were confined to just reading about the guy's football, injuries and tactical strengths and weaknesses; they would struggle to get past the first six letter word.

Cappello obviously doesn`t know the history of some of the players very well because dropping Terry and then choosing Rio the boozer, drug test avoider and love cheat is sort of jumping from the frying pan into the fire! That'll be squeaky clean Michael Owen and his sizeable gambling debts? Or Family man David Beckham cheating on the stick insect by having an affair with a slightly more buxom spanish woman. This whole Terry thing is just a such a stupid story anyway. I wonder if the backlash by our gutter press would've been so aggressive if Mr Terry hadn't got the gagging order in place when the story first broke. I'm not aware of all the facts of the case but didn't he screw this woman after she'd been with Wayne Bridge? As for John Terry. I don't think very much of the guy personally but he is a rather good centre back. I don't think Fabio Capello had any choice in stripping him of the Captaincy though. The England Captain still has to be seen as being whiter than white. You only have to look back to 1970 and see how much an England Captain is in the Spotlight. Having said that being falsely accused of nicking jewellery from a Colombian jeweller is a bit different than a bit than the Terry situation but you wonder how even the great Bobby Moore would've handled the excess of money and the baggage that comes with it. Just what exactly do you do with £100,000 a week? If it was me I think i would build up a classic car collection to rival Jay Leno! I mean what woman out there wouldn't go weak at the knees at the sight of a Jensen Interceptor or a black Ford Escort RS 2000?? The temptations of money being absolutely no object so you can choose whatever you want must be absolutely huge especially when you come from a background of having next to nothing. Morality counts for flip all. The days of Bobby Moore and his wife drinking in your local boozer are over, but having said that I did see Frank Lampard sipping Pink Champagne in Gucci Jacket in the Drayton Arms near Gloucester Road a few years ago and I remember thinking at the time "what a tosser". I remember watching the BBC2 series they had on a few years back (Football diaries maybe?) and the main football people involved were John Terry, John Majdeski, David James and the then Weymouth Chairman Ian Ridley with Steve Claridge as player manager. John Terry come across as a very lonely bloke with a huge empty house with telephones in every room which he never answered. Wayne Bridges' stalker missus perhaps? She is rather cute though. As for Wayne Bridge. Well he's a mediocre left back anyway and I'd rather take Leighton Baines to the World Cup as he's a better player and in form. I did read somewhere in the week that John Terry actually used Wayne Bridges gaff to love some other bird a few years ago. Team Bridge indeed.

I think i had better qualify my annoyance. I don't care who Terry is buffin(wasn't she a vampire slayer?), beating up or making dubious money deals with as long as he takes the consequences of his actions. But, more importantly, that it doesn't affect the mindset, focus and cohesion of the england team in world cup year. What a single digit IQ, selfish, narcisistic tosser he is. Ferdinand isn't much better. What's the betting if we're in the WC final Rio has a special hairdo deal done for the cameras when he lifts the trophy? That's the sort of one handed self lovers we're dealing with. That's why when the chips are down they go missing and can't be bothered. They don't play for the shirt or country, they play to promote their brand.
Rant over, apologies.

Chris - My understanding was that he did it whilst she was still Bridge's girlfriend. Certainly effects my thinking on the matter.

Now that the Tarquins have beaten that bus load of Job Centre regulars from sixty miles of coast line down the M4 (including a flying pig in a party wig!) I take it the captain of England will be shortly knocking on doors in the Valleys claiming the ancient right of Prima Nostra from the witches with spinning wheels!
