Wow, how fantakkers - a further google-search uncovers ANOTHER mushroom-based song - by experimental Kraut-rock proggy 70s outfit Can -the song is simply titled "Mushroom".......... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tago_Mago.......the album is "Tago Mago", and as a superb bonus, the final track on side 4 (well all the best proggy albums back in the day had at least four sides!!!) is "Bring Me Coffee Or Tea", both of which excellently complement any self-respecting brekkie plate.......... ....I am sure my learned friend Lord_Prog himself Mr_Phil_Chelstongull swung his exploding purple, 6-button-waistband flares, waved his incense sticks and rattled his beads to these groovy tunes back in the day.......

What do you mean, back in the day? he was wearing that gear at his birthday party I went to last year, he also had a flower in his hair and did lets go to San Francisco on the karaoke machine.

Marmite is disgusting, you either love it or hate, I hate it! I do love Vegemite though and before any one tries to say their the same I strongly suggest you don`t go there BECAUSE THEIR NOT THE SAME AT ALL!!!!! Any yeast extract connoisseur will tell you that Marmite is stronger and tastes like Vegemite with Paracetamol mixed in it, I was brought up with Vegemite ( I know I`m probably stating the bleedin obvious ) and to taste Marmite makes my face twist up in disgust! A very successful product that Marmite stuff but you can keep it, I`ll stick with my far more expensive Aussie stuff thank you very much! They most certainly are NOT the same. Vegemite is simply a weaker and poorly executed version of the original and real thing...the Fosters lager of yeast extract products! A little known fact btw is that if you leave the top off a jar of Marmite for month, you end up with Vegemite. I don't mind either to be honest. I bought a jar of the New Zealand version of Marmite hoping that it would be in between UK Marmite and Vegemite but its bloody awful stuff.

I promise you the Marmite I tasted in Australia was absolutely disgusting, probably the same as the Kiwi variety, if anyone thinks that stuff is Superior to Vegemite then they need new taste buds!

I undersatnd that the Haywain has closed down. Are you serious? If that is so it just emphasizes the crisis of the licensed trade in this day and age..................and that is of extreme significence for Torquay United as they depend heavily on income from Boots and all the other ancilliary income channelled through the licensed premises at Plainmoor. First the crackdown on drinkng and driving, then the smoking ban and now the recession have all transpired to hammer nails into the coffin of what was once a staple of the British economy. Having been the license holder of Plainmoor's facilities at one time and also having involvement in the pub trade through my first wife, I know just what a hard and intrusive way it is to make a living.....................now it seems a virtually impossible task.

I kid you not Merse - it was always handy to have a cheeky beer there on the way back from somewhere. Sad day indeed - still at least my wife will be taken up the Dumpling more often (fnar, fnar)
