Chelston, do you think the ''waste of space genetic experiments'' were Jedward or the whole group of singers. I know that they are ''not everyones cup of tea'', but there are actually a couple of decent singers in this programme. A lot of people think the whole show is not very good or a ''waste of space'', but at least it's something of an entertainment for around 10 million + viewers so it surely cant be all that bad! The upshot of it all will be that one two or three of them go on to make careers in show-business. Is that such a bad thing. Susan Boyle said on her first public showing in the other programme (BBC I think) , that she was hoping to become a professional singer, and more or less everyone took one look at her, pre-judged her and sniggered! She actually has a very nice voice and dis-proved the doubters. I think she has now gone on to achieve the very enviable position of number one and the fastest selling female album in UK history! That cant be all bad. If one or two of the guys on the X factor make good careers out of this programme and entertain us, then good luck to them. My mum was a cabaret singer for 30 years on the northern club circuit so I guess I have an affinity with performers being the son of one. She loved her job and loved entertaining her audience as she had a really good voice and her act was quite varied and covered many popular songs of the era. I was very very proud watching her give the audience the benefit of her professional singing voice. I can well understand why these youngsters want to do the same. Best of luck to them all, I say!

I said the food came from the fish and chip shop, but I never saw any fish, just the chips, as one who is a very fussy eater and hates buffets as there is only sausage rolls and crisps I can eat, the chips at Phil's party were a welcome surprise.

Talking of throwing money around....................my first job yesterday was taking a lady to Eurostar who was travelling to Paris solely for a lunch appointment and then blow me I had another one who was travelling there just to see her dentist ~ how the "Other Half" live!
