the first time Bodmin have failed to win a trophy (league or league cup) since the inception of the SWPL in 2007. I was going to tell you off about discounting other teams' chickens before you were sure they hadn't hatched. Sounds like Buckland were seconds away from losing out, but that late equaliser should be enough now. I will save saying "Well done Buckland" until the job is done.

Never one to count the old chickens! Ah, I see your drift, but I wasn't saying that Bodmin wouldn't win anything this season. Just that after winning the first four trophies in the league's history (discounting the charity bowl) they failed to win the fifth on Monday. I wouldn't dream of commenting about the sixth until Saturday.

I didn't twig that Bodmin had done a double double, thought you were saying it was their first blank season - let's hope it is!

I too was at the game last night and Bucks certainly werent at their best, partly because the way Falmouth played. Those who I was stood with near the corner next to the clubhouse all thought it was over but I said that a 2-0 lead can often be lost and also said "how many times do you see late goals scored". Well I wasnt expecting two late ones but when the equaliser went in the crowd went loopy and all the players ran over to our corner and a couple jumping into the crowd! Must admit I wasnt expecting Bucks centre half to leap into our arms but it was a fantastic finish.
Can you imagine how Bodmin must have felt? They kicked off 15mins earlier and thrashed Bovey Tracey about 8-0, I think, and knew that Bucks were losing 2-0 with not long left and then a call coming through to the ground what Bucks had done.....must have choked on their Ginsters ;D ;D ;D
That just about wraps up the title for them with whipping boys Holsworthy on saturday. Good luck to them and hope they complete the double.
PS Even their 3rd team got promoted last night too!

To conclude the story Buckland did win the SWPL on Saturday to pip Bodmin on goal difference.

They had to beat bottom of the table holsworthy away who had conceded over 100 goals and at half time it was a nervy 1-1 but a spell of four quick goals early in second half saw them through to a league and cup double.
First team from Devon to win that leagues title too....!!
