When I lived in Shaldon if there was a sunny Summer's evening I used to take my boat up the Teign and around the canal, past the rear of the race course, all the way to the Tesco's car park, where nestled in the overgrowth of the bank is a very small jetty. I'd moor up and walk across the car park, do my shopping then saunter back down the river, (via the Passage House Inn and Coombe Cellars!) before tying my boat up on the beach outside my place and taking the shopping inside... A far more civilised way to get the weeks food than driving...
If it was a particularly good evening i'd sometimes go past Tesco's first and saunter up beside Rackerhayes Ponds, it was so peaceful with the trees bowed over the water.

Ah the tranquility of Devon, I must admit I've never seen a boat moored in the car park of our local Morrisons!

Perhaps we could have a TFF jolly up the river!!

Ah the tranquility of Devon, I must admit I've never seen a boat moored in the car park of our local Morrisons! I suppose the best opportunity in London would the Sainsbury's near Camden Lock! Actually, thinking about it, there's also another Sainsburys near Grand Union Canal at Ladbroke Grove.
