This is getting nearly as many takers as there was people that wanted to donate to The Lewis Starkie fund raiser!

One or two who were in last seasons prediction league has asked if we should not start the new season with them starting in the league they finished up in.
Lou and I talked about it last night and had a look at the end of season tables and who has put their name down for this seasons competition.
While It would be possible to put those who finished in Div one in that division to start this season, we would not be able to do the same for div two.
We would have to make up div two with some who are doing it this season for the first time and we would have to come up with a fair way to do that.
Last season we had not planned to run a prediction league, some just put theirs down on a thread after the season had started and Brett offered to run one if thats what members wanted.
This year we are running it from new really, with changes that will make it more interesting and give everyone a better chance to progress up the leagues.
Therefore we have decided that the best and fairest way to sort out what divisions the entrants will start in, is to run a pre season competition. Lou will put up before the Buckland friendly all the preseasons games for you all to predict on.
When they have all been played Lou will then put you in the league based on your results from the pre season games. This will only happen this season as in future you will start the new season in the league you finished up in the season before.
I hope you are all happy with these arrangements, as we have many new players we are just trying to make it fair to everyone at the start.
We hope to get a few more to make up a complete 3rd division.
Many thanks Dave R

Count me in, now I am returned from the Big Apple. I'll post up some pics, one of which may even be football-related, probably on Sunday when the combination of jet-lag and going to the cricket on Saturday is out of the way!

Just come on after a little while off, this is GREAT news Lou Well done. Last word on the subject: it has been an honour running the League & Cup last season and well done top all who joined in to make it a great success. As you can see already Lou is gonna make it an even greater success and i wish her the best running this. It is great we have 30 already and put me down as i am surely pre season favourite.

There are only a few more days left until the pre season friendlies start so if you would like to join the prediction league sign up now! By signing up now and predicting on the pre season friendlies you can give yourself a better chance of getting a good starting place in the NEW PREDICTION LEAGUE! The more the merrier , the harder the competition!! Thanks rivieralou

I know friendlies aren`t too be taken as flat out games but the Buckland game is another level again, especially when you take into account the non-player who plays 45 mins because he payed enough to play and won the comp for it, fair play to that person, but this particular game with alsorts of unknown quantities playing is a bit of a lottery to predict, I don`t mind it being in the comp we are in, but I do think it may need some consideration about being included in our predictions comp as a marker to see what league who is in! Any thoughts? Please don`t think I`m trying too throw a spanner in the works, it`s just a thought! I`m also NOT dissin Chris Todds charity!
