ricardo, that is the real difference that we have today at our club, a board who deep down are real fans just like we are, while I do feel the fans to not have the contact with the board, that I feel would go along way to bond the club better, I feel safe and happy in the knowledge, that they have the clubs best interest at heart.
Glad you enjoyed your meetings with Phil, Jon and Jamie, three people I always look forward to talking too, Jamie is one who shares my views and was the first person I got hold of to help on the forum and I must not forget old JimD another fine and honest man, hard to believe that both Jamie and Jim are banned elsewhere, not that they really mind too much about that.

I thought Woods was fairly sound yesterday but he did make a couple of sloppy mistakes. On the other hand I was very impressed by Hodges. I wasn't convinced of his suitability for the central role in his first few games but he is rapidly winning me over. Attended the TUST AGM and we were treated to an impromptu 10 minute Q&A session with Alex Rowe in which he addressed issues such as crowd sizes, the postponed Weymouth game, the importance of he FA Cup run and squad unity in a very honest and direct way. You really can see that this club means a lot to him and the current board. Great to meet Chelston, Jon and Jamie at the meeting but I'm sorry Phil, you didn't win anything on the raffle! But I did win the raffle! a nice new pair of headphones (i was suprised because I am not usually lucky like that - as a friend of mine says "you could fall in a barrel of t*ts and come out sucking your thumb"! The q & a with Alex was interesting, he commented on the attendances and pretty much put my mind at rest. He acknowledged disapointment at their level but also spoke about them slowly rising. He reasurred fans that the goals set will not be changed and certainly sounded posistive and entusiastic. A big thanks to hayden jones and others for putting time and effort into arranging the agm. I have now set up direct debits for myself and family members. I would urge all of you to take the time to do it yourselves to ensure your memberships don't lapse. Great to meet Ricardo , chelston and stuart b yesterday (although slightly disapointed that ricardo is in fact rick and is not Brazilian!) thanks for the lift home. |
