I know we ended up feeling that getting the record, did not mean so much after the sad news we heard about our Chris Todd. We did get the record, won the game and the result took up to the top of the table.
Keeping the winning run going is important and three more points in this game, will not only keep us top, but as others near us in the table, may fail to get a result, we could start to see small gaps opening up.
I still feel that playing Sills up front and Thompson in behind will be the way we should start this game, I know I said that I felt Thompson was really poor on Tuesday night, he was, but maybe he was more effected by the news and this showed up in his performance.

It's been something of a surreal week to be a Torquay United supporter. The jubilation of breaking the record to go top was cut short by the devastating news that followed the next morning, rendering all on-field activities completely irrelevant. However, the season must go on and I have no doubt in my mind that Toddy will be in that changing room on Saturday giving the boys all the inspiration they need. It is vital we keep this run going. It is so, SO tight at the top end of the table and defeat at Woking would leave us in fourth if Histon, Burton and Cambridge were to snatch victories. However, being the ever-optimist, I have no doubt in my mind that the players will make us proud and continue to "do it for Toddy". I understand the Woking away end is uncovered, so it better not be raining as I don't want to end up like this fella:

As DGEP says, hopefully Chris Todd will be in the dressing room giving the lads inspiration.
The players have another reason to go all out for the title now; Toddy. Lets win it for him!!
Come On You Yellows!

I will be there with a football virgin. Have told her how well we are playing at the moment, so I hope it's more of the same!

I will be there with a football virgin. I'm hoping to have the lil lady come along. She's been to a few with me before and United have won every one of them, so she's something of a lucky mascot (not that we really need one at the moment). I'm also hoping to get her friend along too. Her boyfriend is a Chelsea fan and took her to their recent win over Aston Villa. I've told her that her only experience of live football cannot be that Premiership rubbish so she needs to come and see some "real" football.

Hope for another victory which will keep the stats coming! Our first double, 9 straight wins, continue our unbeaten run and hopefully maintain our position at the top of the league. Woking don't seem to be scoring much so don't think we will lose this one, particular with our miserly defence! I think the formation will be along the lines of a 4-4-1-1 but wouldn't be surprised to see 4-4-2! The team more or less picks itself with just a few choices to make in individual positions. I think Carayol will start over Stevens ( who may well make a sub appearance ) Hodges over Ellis ( which I don't necessarily agree with but think it comes down to a left foot preference ) and Thompson over Benyon ( 50/50 IMO with Matt Green a very close third) I saw that Carlisle broke down in training this week; I could be wrong but is that the third time this has happened? Hopefully with the quality we currently have on the wing, he will be given all the time needed to recover and not be rushed back. I think it is apparent that Buckle does like his wingers to score goals and with Dsane finding the back of the net recently, he fulfills this role somewhat.

Ant (TUAFC1) left the Bay early this morning, to board his coach as he takes his under 18 Devon FA side, to play their latest game at Reading. He did joke that he hopes Reading is under snow, so he can get the driver to drive to Woking, where I'm sure he would have been if the under 18s were not playing.
Lets hope we get a good commentator on the radio, for those of us who are not going and get the win we want.

when was the last time the opposition notched the first goal - FGR? Definitely quite a while. Still, it's 'early doors' and plenty of time for things to happen. I'm sure the Yellow Army will be swelled with Gulls based around the area. Not near a computer or a radio all afternoon - how does it sound like things are going?

All runs do come to an end and it would have been so much better if we could have pulled one back before half time.
Maybe changes will need to be made early in the second half, get Benyon or Green on, we need to have more strike power.
