Not going to be an easy game, but I think there are no easy games In this league and the team will need to put in the work rate and effort that they have recently, to come away with all three points.
The run we are on has been a very good one and I believe It will continue so I have us down to win. This maybe a game where we see Sills upfront and Thompson playing the role just behind him, that has worked well away before. I would think Benyon will start On the bench, we know what impact he can have coming on later in a game.

Buckle said that he considered playing 4-5-1 last week but felt confident of the win and played 4-4-2 from the outset. After last week's performance I don't see why Buckle will have had a crisis of confidence in the interim ;D and think he will play the same formation. For this reason, I think Benyon will start, particularly as he has had an extra week of training after coming back from injury. Otherwise, why change a winning team? The Ebbsfleet match is the only home match I have missed this season and from all accounts we were pretty dreadful Hopefully Ebbsfleet will get a shock if we play a la Stevenage or Rushden.

Having seen us lose against Ebbsfleet three times now, we really owe them a stuffing. I would think we'll go with the same midfield and defence, but with the tweak that Dave suggests. Provided it's a fluid 4-5-1 it can just as easily turn in to a more attacking strategy where the players and Manager so dictate. If Benyon is used eg: after a negative first half, I would hope he would get more than a 10 or 15 minute cameo, though.
I would consider starting Carayol rather than Stevens as I wasn't that impressed with some of the cheap giving away of possession from Danny on Sunday. That said, they can both be guilty of that. I doubt Bucks will change them over, though.

Ebbsfleet has lost their last three games and will want to win at home to stop their bad run. They will put everything into winning In front Of their own fans and I can see we will have to work hard to get any kind Of result.

Whether they go 4-4-2, 4-5-1, 4-1-4-1 or 4-4-1-1 I'm convinced that we we can give Ebbesfleet more of a match than we did in the last pathetic two showings against them! Wroe, Woods, Robertson and Carlisle have all been totally different players to the ones that were playing when we played Ebbesfleet a few weeks ago (which is totally bizarre that we are reversing our fixtures already!).
Not sure whether we will start with Benyon tomorrow, I think that TT will get a start and we'll see how that goes for a bit. One of the big issues for tomorrow is whether Bevan's groin holds-out OK.......

ohtobeatplainmoor, we better hope his groin does hold out, would hate to throw away three points, just because we started with a keeper not fully fit. I really don't think Bucks would gamble over this, would he

I don't think he has an awful lot of choice with Bevan and his fitness. Rice hasn't been recalled and I can't see him being recalled to sit on the bench anyway.
With regards to Rice, I wonder what will happen for the FA Cup match in 8 days time. Poke isn't going to be fit for then and Bevan isn't going to be allowed by Shrewsbury to be cup-tied. Surely we wouldn't start with an outfield player in goal for that one??!!

I think you find we will recall Rice as even If Poke was fit his club will also not let him be cup tied.
As far as i understand when Rice Is recalled, that will end his loan and I think we will then see him here to at least January. If that Is the case I wonder If Bucks would then go back to having a keeper On the bench, I wait with interest,

Really looking forward to the match tomorrow. It'll be my first match since Crawley way back in August. Quite a bit has changed since then and in many ways it's going to be like watching a different team.
My guess is that Buckle will stick with pretty much the same team as Rushden with the only chance being Thompson coming in for Green.

Not sure If Merse Is going, but just look up into the high seats and you may just see him. ;D You bet I'm going and I'll be in the seats, but there aren't any high ones that's for sure...................the Main stand is a smaller version than the old wooden one at Plainmoor. Good to see "Mr T" on here..................a site worthy of his contributions! I think it'll be a tough one today as Ebbsfleet play a type of football that sets us more problems than any other...............rigidly keeping their shape and getting plenty of men behind the ball, although they are on a poor run at the moment. Never been to Northfleet MrT?, you'll be underwhelmed it's a shite hole so make sure your tetanus and diphtheria inoculations are up to date and wear your old clothes!

Wear old clothes?? Damn ... I was going to wear some of my recent purchases from the gentlemans' outfitters TK Maxx!! And thanks for the comments merse. Glad I found this site eventually. Your absence from elsewhere on the net has definitely been missed as far as I'm concerned. Right off out shopping (not my choice!!) and then off to the match. I'll be the one on the terrace (I assume there is one for away fans??) who can be heard saying ... merse is right this place is a shite hole!!! Match report to follow later. Disclaimer ... the accuracy of this might be affected depending on the amount of alcohol consumed before kick off.

crazyfool, we will look forward to your match report later, It matters not If you drink to much, Merse will only blame your low standing position and the fact that you were behind the goal, should he disagree with your views Being behind the goal at his last match, was the reason Merse got the formation completely wrong(Bless) still he gets most thing correct I will be at a big family party tonight(over 100 Of us) so will have to wait till late to read all the views on the game, as It does not start until 7.30pm, I will only be able to manage two pints Of Newcastle Brown Ale, so should still be sober enough to read the site.

It matters not If you drink to much, I will only be able to manage two pints Of Newcastle Brown Ale, so should still be sober enough to read the site. I would have thought consuming anything from Newcastle at the moment would be a sobering influence on anyone.......................what a classic example of mismanagement at the top causing absolute loss of self esteem and professionalism at playing level. But then, WE would know all about that from our recent history! Even down to the appointment of Keegan by the last regime...............how could a serial "quitter", word breaking and self centred, petulant little man ever have been considered for such a job is beyond me. He even confessed to not having even watched a professional football match in the three years leading up to his appointment! When he was a player, there was a running joke about the Kevin Keegan Doll................... drop it and it cries - sums him up.
