Great result today and thanks for the match reports, they keep me well informed!
Now let's get this Setanta thing out of the way and keep the 3 points at Plainmoor this thursday. I'll be watching the game in a pub in Eindhoven.

I'm with chipnicker, dsane was very poor today. He was a yard off the pace & didn't want to get involved in the game, I would put this down to him being right footed & played on the left flank which clearly he is out of his depth & is not as acustomed to this roll as caryoll is. He had no effect on the game today. I do disagree with her on Bevan the keeper, admitedly he pulled off 1 good save down to his left but his handling concerns me as he seems to catch the ball wrong with his hands held out rather than into him & his punch when he could have caught the ball in the 1st half was very weak, he's not as commanding as poke for such a big man & he went missing on crosses several times, time will tell on him but I hope Poke is back soon.

Ant I think he worked hard enough, but got beaten far to easy at times and his shooting was poor, as you know the angle he was at for most Of his shots, he should have gone across the keeper.
Still think he deserved a goal In the second half, as he did not give up trying and to score you need to shoot, something that before was lacking In many Of the players.

Absolutely fantastic performance. Have to say the only let down was Dane. Don't care if he was out of position, he proved he wasn't up for the fight, only happy when he had a clear run at someone and even then it normally came to nothing, as for his shooting, well thats what I've come to expect from him. The nearly man.
The rest of the team were outstanding. Wroe was my man of the match and notched a goal just after I'd made my mind up.
Just had a quick look at the Stevenage board, my what a bunch of sour twisted souls they are.
Faith restored in all things yellow after an absence since the Salisbury game !

bitemebryn Its good to see that your faith is restored, I think everyone should be happy with the way the team Is now shaping up. As hard as I tried to keep things positive on here, when we were getting poor results, not even I thought our turn around would be this good.
Still we must not get carried away, Its along season, but lets enjoy the good times now they are here.

Must say I was very suprised to not see any TUFC players today wearing black armbands considering we was remembering 2 of the club greats that had passed away.

Rolf always has said that If you drive for only one hour In any direction(from where he lives) you will be In another country, that Is why he thinks the UK is such a big country.

Another cracking game today with a great team performance from Bevan up to and including Green. For me Dsane wasn't on teh same wavelength and can understand why Bucks has him on the transfer loan list.
Wroe and Greavsie in the middle were fantastic and those two I would have thought are first on the team sheet.
Good to hear the crowd singing and chanting for most of the match. How important was that injury time winner against Northwich?

In fact I didn't see them there at all on Saturday

It Is a shame Micky that some so called fans, seen to delight If we fail In any games, I have never understood It really, yes when things are poor, we will all have our moans, even If some do not like It. But surly we have to make the most Of the good times, get every ounce Of pleasure from the games we win.
Yesterday was a real pleasure to be at Plainmoor, that has not always been the case, but Its days like yesterday that keep us hooked and I hope this Is how It will be for the rest Of this season.

Dsane - (3) Other than turning up to the match and and a few good passes I’m not quite sure what he did well. Looked poor and anyone who watched this game could not be left in doubt about why he is up for emergency loan. Well, I was at the game, I thought he played very well and caused Stevenage's right-back constant trouble. His finishing was not up to scratch, but considering he was out of his regular position, [glow=yellow,2,300]I think giving him 3 out of 10 is an insult of the highest order.[/glow] It's no wonder I am Dave's true No 1 I have to agree with Capitalgulls disagreement with the marks given to Dsane. I wouldn’t have given him that many. Also, judging by those that have commented on Dsane’s performance, i seem to think the consensus was that he did not have a very good game. Its not the 3 marks that were a disgrace, it was Dsane who was the disgrace. For me he committed 3 cardinal sins of football. 1. First of all, and unforgivably, he pulled out of one or two challenges that he was favourite to win the ball. He turned at least two 70-30 balls in his favour into 30-70 balls by not wanting to get stuck in. Fans don’t like it when people are seen to not be committed and there were several shouts to that effect from the crowd. 2. Ball watching. I thought that was supposed to be eradicated from the under kids football?? Again several times he was caught ball watching and waiting for the ball to come to him, which resulted in us losing possession. Twice this happened when we were attacking and they resulted in counter attacks for Stevenage. 3. Poor control. Once again i counted at least 3 occasions when his ball control let him down. Lost possession etc. He also struggled to get past his man. 4. Better make that 4, his shooting was woeful. Someone correct me if i am wrong, but did he not have about 5 ‘shots’, only 1 of which (from 2 yards) hit the target. 1 of which ended up in the garden behind the away end. Even he put his shirt over his head. His failure to score and his failure to convert so many of the one on ones he finds himself in leads me to question his goal scoring ability. I think he averages about 1 goal every 7 or 8 games. He never looks like he is going to score. To me he played with the attitude of someone who realises his time is coming to an end at Plainmoor. He showed a distinct lack of passion and hunger, unlike Hargreaves, Mansell, in fact everybody else. This is quite understandable given the way he was unceremoniously dumped onto the transfer list, however, i can not forgive a player who is not prepared to give his all for the club, no matter what his situation. The ‘out of position’ excuse is a bit lame. All 10 outfield players should be expected to control the ball, not wimp out of tackles, be committed and look like they WANT to play for Torquay. His performance did not impress anybody stood near me and there were a few who shouted “that’s why you are on the transfer list”, when on several occasions he failed to make an effort to get the ball. His off the field attitude isn’t much better, allegedly. Not turning up for a meeting with the guy who spent a lot of money on sponsoring him. Which with all the credit crunch posts on here makes him look even worse for not turning up. Surely Carayol would have been a better option Yesterday? Or Stevens, or Hodges. For me Dsane was the only disappointment in an otherwise fantastic performance from us. That is 2 games in a row where we have dominated the game, against opposition who are regarded as potential promotion hopefuls. I do feel that we are right back in the race for promotion and would like to think that other teams are now looking at us and what we are doing as opposed to the other way around.
