Did we play well? Not really, but who cares, a win is a win and to score in the 90 odd minute, away, with your centre forward in goal, with them hitting the bar and missing a penalty, you would take that any day of the week. All you had to do was drive that extra bit of the country, pick me up and then I couldv'e watched the action too! Great report. Awful time listening to the radio, I didn't even hear who had scored our winner due to "commentator" screaming down radio. Mind you, must have acknowledged my previous post on this - that he isn't passionate enough. Very fustrating not being there, but we got the 3 points, which is fantastic. Lets hope they can keep the roll going for the Wrexham game - wouldn't mind a FGR repeat so I could actually watch some of what sounded to be fantastic action! - The whole sillsy in goal situation would've just been brilliant to experience! Rice immediately recalled?

It probably sounded a better game on the radio than it actually was, apart from the last 2 minutes. Benyon was loving it, it obviously meant so much to him tonight The passion Sills and Benyon (Benyon inparticular) exort is phenomenal, and for me really makes me enjoy the footy all that bit more. Last season Benyon was mostly a sub, only getting a couple of starts and rarely lasting a whole game. This season we have seen a little more but again he has been used predominantly as a sub. Yet the passion he shows when playing is still top notch. When hes on the pitch and he or anyone scores he goes wild. And for me that makes me enjoy it all that bit more - knowing the players hearts are in it as well as mine.

lol how can i be homesick with comical comments like that one to cheer me up? No, I've been ditched and seeing as FGR is apparently in the middle of nowhere, the train times could not co-ordinate to allow me to go! Clearly, my Post of the Week was too much for some to bare....

Thanks Dave. I know, mind you I'm still counting on his lift to the Wrexham game, so won't be able to get any top notch posts out this week, wouldn't want to contend with his GREAT match report. (Think that'll just about secure my lift)

...........................wouldn't mind a FGR repeat so I could actually watch some of what sounded to be fantastic action! - The whole sillsy in goal situation would've just been brilliant to experience! Rice immediately recalled? Hats off to him for doing it, but I thought Sillsy looked one of the worst and ill at ease "keepers" I have ever seen. That first shot that he only half stopped only for Hodges to mop up behind him was indicative of things to come in that had he taken that one cleanly he might have shown more confidence in his handling. The half time input from Kenny Veysey though was vital in giving him some of that self belief, but to me he looked like I imagine I would do if I found myself taking over the controls of an airliner because the pilot had suffered a heart attack! A brave man Tim Sills, and somehow he "got the bugger down"! ;D

Last season Benyon was mostly a sub, only getting a couple of starts and rarely lasting a whole game. This season we have seen a little more but again he has been used predominantly as a sub. Yet the passion he shows when playing is still top notch. I've made no secret of the opinion I held that I thought Benyon lacked the physique to make proper effect of his undoubted skill in the BSP. But he is showing that he has been working on his physical and mental approach to the game so that he is now a rather more effective "impact sub", much like Danny Stevens. I agree the old fashioned "vim and vigour" he is displaying of late is presenting opponents with a thorn in the side to deal with when they have been "softened up" in the first hour and the finishing for the goals he has now scored against Woking and FGR has been phenomenal..................what excellent strikes! To me, that's a perfect example of a good manager and coaching team developing potential from a former "periphery player" and a further good example of the archetypal "fringe striker" who wows 'em in the reserves and gets those who've watched him there, banging the drum for his inclusion in the starting eleven. Another example of just how much greater depth and quality this season's squad holds over last season's.

Whenever I've watched Benyon his running off the ball has been superb but his weakness has been with his back to goal he gives the ball away too easily.
I wasn't there on Tuesday but on the radio it sounded as though he had a slightly different role behind Green which enabled him to run at the defence. Maybe he should be used this way in the future?

Well, it is on a par with ground admission. May have been cheaper if it was a home game, I just don't know how these things work. Probably get a copy myself.

does anyone else think £14.99 is an absolutely ridiculous price? Well without knowing how much it costs TUFC to source copies, nor their operating profit margin for shop sales; how can anyone judge? Simple answer is not to buy it if you feel it is a rip off, but if you don't - cough up!
