Dave, no disrespect. But you have to think beyond match days. Marketing Torquay as an away day trip of the season would make it worthwhile, especially in Div 1. Add that to the use of our facilities for conferences, weddings, community and business use would do it.
I agree dave it takes a leap of faith but we have to be brave and proactive in our thinking.
Damn, i've got my marketing head on (which is my area of expertise). I'll shut up now even tho i see an opportunity to grab the Torquay public by the balls and move us up a level. Sadly the club couldn't afford me to come and do it for them!!!

Merse the facilities already exist for directors. They would be able to sit with their own fans or with ours. Having been to a couple of grounds i would think the patronage our current family end offers would be more than acceptable. I've sat in our Family stand many times with no problem regarding view or whatever. It's far better than many other grounds offerings. I'm sure you'll agree with that.

I agree there should be no confinement to a behind the goal view, and a couple of our own directors do not sit in the box during the game, as I have seen them walk past my own seat in the grandstand to sit in the blue seats.
But to be honest, I find the view from the back of the family stand to be equally as good as those seats near halfway since all of them have viewing black spots because of the posts.
Hopefully technology has improved such that posts would no longer be needed in a new construction. I just fear the limit in room behind the current grandstand could be a barrier to a stand in the vision of the Wrexham stand, or perhaps the big stand at Crewe.

a couple of our own directors do not sit in the box during the game, as I have seen them walk past my own seat in the grandstand to sit in the blue seats. .......................and the Vice Chairman watches from the Popside! Mark and Cris Boyce sit on the halfway line of the old stand just where the old Directors Seats used to be. davethegull....................I'm perfectly aware that is where the directors sit now, the point I was making is that it is both an unusual and somewhat inferior way to treat visiting directors; but I'm sure that if any have made an issue of it they have been accommodated in the old grandstand. There is a precedent for visiting fans to being accommodated in the Family Stand................. The Southend United Vice Presidents Club have used the facilities when they have also paid for their team to fly down to Devon for games here. There's nowt wrong with the "Rich Shrimpers" they entertained us royally on the occasion of our winning promotion at Roots Hall and I think I'll always feel the hangover Brian Dear and Co inflicted on us that evening!
