The best poster of the week is not some joke, it was set up so anyone who put effort into making posts on this forum, stood a chance of getting acknowledgment for their efforts.
So why do three people think the starter of this thread is worthy of a vote? just so you know the votes and who made them show up in the security log, so not really surprised who voted.
If you want to just abuse and not take it seriously then don't vote, others do like to vote for the right reasons.
I have now reset the posters votes to NIL

Dave you`ve completely lost me, what votes? I may have missed something here, how does best poster come into it? I saw a new thread, read it, and to be honest didn`t know what the hell was going on, so I asked " to do what?" the reply was "That" I replied "oh" because at that point I had given up!

I think I'm the one being told off, aussie. Don't know where the other two votes came from, though.

Aussie you have done nothing wrong mate, a lot of time is put into making this forum look good, work correctly and have as many features as possible.
Three members thought it a laugh to vote for the thread stater as the best poster of the week, I do not share their humour and have simply asked that only real votes for posts that deserve a vote should receive one.

Dave, I haven't voted but isn't it up to the individual how they vote? given the farce over the Steve Woods player of the season vote, there are many reasons why people vote but it is their right to vote, however silly it is. don't take things so seriously as life is too short

I find your remarks disappointing as the votes were not giving in the true nature of the best poster award. To prevent the best poster becoming a farce, I have politely asked that votes be genuine, the votes given to this member clearly were not.

I am purely pointing out that you should not become too anal like someone on the other site!! I agree with what you say and believe in but don't get too serious. This site is fantastic and you, along with all it's members should be rightly proud of what has been created. Are we going to have a party when it's 1 year old?? preparations should be in full swing as it isn't long till the first birthday

I'm quite willing to be named & shamed as one of the 'guilty' three I also appreciate the well written , lengthy & interesting posts which this forum has in abundance. However after a bad day at work I came home & started browsing the forum. Geoffrey59's post cheered me up no end...after initially wondering what the hell he was on about I soon found I was chuckling to myself. 15 minutes later I returned to it & still couldn't read it without smiling. A day later & I still smile as I read it. Geoffrey59 was Best Poster for me as he provided the post I enjoyed reading most. Another week I might wish to vote for someone who usually just types a few words but has for once managed to string a few sentances together and in my own mind the reasons behind the vote would have been just as 'genuine' even if the posts content didn't match up to the scholarly works of Merse or Barton Downs. Anyway as Dave asked I thought I'd give my answer while obviously not speaking on behalf of the other two 'offenders'.

just so you know the votes and who made them show up in the security log, so not really surprised who voted.Glad to see you have such a high opinion of me Dave. Yes, I was the "third man" in the votegate affair! I won't claim to have any highfalutin reasons such as Alpine, I just saw someone else had voted (It's all your fault Rob!! ) and it seemed a good idea at the time! In hindsight maybe it wasn't! Apologies if this upset you Dave (although I would echo those who have said don't take things so seriously!), I'll consider my wrists slapped and it won't happen again!
