If you refer to the official Histon FC site the game at the Glassworld is ALL TICKET and they're charging fifteen quid to stand at pitch level behind the goal for away fans and eighteen quid to sit in the corner of their barely higher seating in their four row "stand" along one side.............that's scandalous and I think I'll be staying at home and getting a proper view of the match on TV. They've upped the prices by two pounds a head for the terrace and four pounds a head for a seat. I've always been of the opinion that I don't mind paying a fair price for a fair view, but eighteen quid to sit in a "bike shed" is taking the piss and there are so many "obstructed view" seats in their new stand on the other side the architect wants castrating! Just to show the spirit of "equality" we should only make available the flat corner of our ground and the usual seats at the SAME prices they are charging OUR fans and close the away stand for the night..............it'll be perfectly adequate for their following of which we'll be lucky if it exceeds a couple of hundred. That their facilities are considered adequate for the Football League, whilst Kettering have been effectively banned from achieving promotion until they get a ten year lease is a total mockery of justice but the FACT that Accrington Stanley got in with their particular version of a local allotment says it all really doesn't it.

Accrington Stanleys ground is an absolute joke, the best view is from the beer garden table top in the pub next door!

Great to have so many seats (they only have 950 in total anyway) but NO concessions for kids? That's just plain greedy and would cost me £54 quid to get a half decent view of the game if my kids want to go. That's made up my mind for me and I'll be getting a good view on Setanta!

Well heres hoping for a great weekend.
Sunday at Newmarket races, then a relaxed little drive down the A14 to Histon. hopefully no repeat of last seasons diversion through Cambridge.
Got to wait till thurs now to buy tickets over the phone and hope they arrive in time. £30.50 for my lad & me to stand in the metal box behind the goal or on the lofty concrete step.
Still should be a great night, I can almost smell the portaloos already.
Despite the grounds shortcomings, I do look back upon our first trip to Histon last season as a great night out.

Toddy to put us through to Wembley this time would do just fine. Though my earlier in the season dream of Toddy's Wembley winner still stands, so he might have to keep his powder dry.

buster, sounds like you have a great weekend lined up. newmarket races on sunday features the second classic of the season, the 1000 guineas, the 2000 guineas having been run the day before. for non racing people on the site there are 5 classics run during the flat season all for 3 year olds. the 2000 guineas is for colts and the 2000 guineas for fillies. this is followed by the oaks and the derby in june at epsom. the oaks is for fillies and the derby for for colts, although fillies are not barred from the race. the final and fifth classic is the st leger at doncaster in september, run over 1and threequarter miles and open to colts anf fillies. as for paying for the weekend, rainbow view looks a good thing for the 1000 guineas, although she will be around the 5/4 mark. all this and on to histon on monday and make for a perfect weekend.

Flying home from Chicago just in time to make the trip to Histon. Debating getting up at 4am tomorrow morning to book my ticket, but we're not really going to sell out that allocation so may grab some sleep instead...
