Haha you may be right there weathergull, I was thinking more about the support that has to come over the course of the 90 mins on Sat. At times when were struggling to break through it seems like the team would benifit much more from encouragement than from boo's..

It's getting even tougher. Kidderminster hammering Woking at their place, 0-3 after 39 minutes. This leaves us 3 points above Stevenage who now drop to sixth in the table.
A certain Chris McPhee scores the 0-4, ít's only just halftime...

Indeed a tough month ahead with both Histon and Stevenage winning comfortably last night. Cambridge seem to be going well and another form team at the moment. I see those three plus one other in the playoffs. What is amazing is that four of our main rivals have matched us over that period, when the fixture list has been kind to us. I had thought that a good haul from those winnable games would give us a comfortable cushion for our tough run-in - but that has not happened due to the remarkable consistency of our rivals. There are so many six pointers ahead (I hadn't realised Kiddie are yet to play Stevenage until eddyh pointed it out) so not everyone will be able to carry on at that pace. An interesting month ahead indeed. I still would not totally rule Oxford out. Four of their games are very winnable and if they can beat Histon and Burton (tough but not impossible), 82 points might very well be enough. |

One thing for sure is that those form tables, will be completely different at the end of this month. Some posters are getting a bit twitchy to say the least, building this saturday's game up to be make or break. Too many points to play for yet.....too many six pointers to come involving all the teams in the top 7/8. Looking at our fixtures I would say that the Stevenage and Barrow away games may well decide our fate.....2nd and 3rd games from the end. We must be careful not to transmit the nerves that some of our fans are feeling to the players on saturday. Everybody needs to encourage the team (yeah, i know they won't  ) We have to remember that we have a good record against the rest of the leading sides in the division, this season. We have had two good seasons in this league now.......and have a squad that the management and the vast majority of the fanbase believes is good enough to do the job and get us up. As someone pretty famous once said "The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself" |

I do think we're running out of obviously winnable games. And i'm not sure confidence could suffer another home reversal (either players or supporters!) A win this weekend and we can face the run-in with confidence, whilst simultaneously all-but ending the hopes of another challenger. A defeat, whilst not being fatal to our hopes, would be tough to recover from - especially in light of everyone else's relentless form.
