I hope that all supporters who required medical assistance today are all okay.
Fair play to the club for getting an ambulance at the ground for such emergencies. Round of applause to all who helped.

Update: “Torquay United would like to provide an update regarding the supporters who were taken ill on Saturday. We are pleased to have received the news that all four supporters who experienced medical episodes within the stadium during the course of the game have now recovered, and did not require hospital treatment. We would like to take this opportunity to praise the medical staff who attended to them so swiftly. In addition to thanking our fans for their assistance and patience whilst their fellow supporters received treatment, we would like to remind all visitors of the importance of remaining hydrated, particularly during the hot weather.”

It wasn’t that hot yesterday, but perhaps no coincidence that all the medical cases occurred in the pop side. Having to stand up for a few hours and where it is particularly packed, would not have been pleasant and lessons need to be learnt from this although the circumstances were unusual, mooted as a 1 in 20 year event beforehand and perhaps a perfect storm. With the seats selling out first, it is possible that some would have been forced to stand when they would have preferred to have been seated. I’ve seen a copy of an email to the club from a long standing supporter who was initially refused entry due to bringing in a bottle of water so as to remain hydrated throughout the game and it took a supervisor to eventually let him in….
Moving onto the game, I thought Argyle had a very talented side with lots of quantity particularly out wide with 2 (Mumba - Arygle fan next to us said million pound transfer fee last season), 7(Cissoko - what footwork!) and 35 (Issaka) catching my eye. I thought Tonks did really well to contain a difficult player and has some decent pace, see why Wotton brought him back after a stint at Truro..
So we were set up to contain Argyle more, perhaps at the expense of being an attacking threat. Thought Threlkeld did very well breaking up Arygle’s play, and while there was a couple of misplaced passes from him, for me showed the most quality and my man of the match. I thought Cooke also did very well when he came on and will be a big threat at our level and think he will compliment either Seymour or Ash more as opposed to playing them together.
I see Wooton wasn’t too pleased with the goals conceded although Argyle certainly did enough to merit a two goal win. Penalty came after some good work on the right, I think it was Issaka causing lots of problems with the ball coming out to our old friend Jenkins Davis on the edge of the area, but running right to left with Ash coming back to defend and basically shoving him for a clear penalty decision which was put away without any difficulty lowdown to the right.
The second goal came after some space was created centrally and the shot from just outside the area was well saved by Hamon but knocked to his right for Mumba to use his pace and chip the ball over Hamon into the empty net. Suppose that’s the quality a million quid gets you! As it happens, I can only recall Hamon having to make standard saves with just a few shots narrowly wide so overall think we were compact and defended well.

I'm a bit surprised by that as I thought the policy, both here and at other grounds, was to confiscate the bottle cap. Hopefully lessons learnt from this.

Indeed, the reason given by security was the bottle had already been opened and there could be anything in it? ?

Happened to me at the end of last season KJ’ies 😡

What was the ‘official’ attendance?
No kicking folk off the yellow areas as requested - is it a h & s box ticking exercise then, On low gates they pounce like a lion.

Having just watched Plymouth Argyle playing at Sheffield Wednesday on Sky Sports Football this afternoon, I am quite concerned about our hopes of survival this season. If we couldn't beat that shower of hopeless lightweights at home, what chance do we have against much better teams such as Chesham United and Salisbury!

Caught the last 20 minutes and thought they looked really ragged at the back, reminded me of our defending for last two seasons. Fear for them a bit looking at that and I don't think the fans will be giving Rooney much rope and he's already in the spotlight. Just as long a they don't come in poaching there ex home park favourite when Rooney gets the elbow in a couple of months time...
