For those of us who are TUST members an email was sent by the TUST board today asking for views on the use of a proportion of the TUST forever yellow fund to be transferred to the new club ownership to both buy a stake in TUFC and be put towards the running costs of the new season with a view to launch a community share issue to raise even more investment to be put into the club with details to be shortly finalized. The upshot of this is that there will likely be one, possibly two TUST appointed directors on the TUFC board and with the other six consortium members having a vote apiece, it gives fans a very real voice in the workings of the club. That is not to say every decision will be micromanaged and look towards the Exeter model as to how they run the club although they do hold 100% ownership.
So, a fundamental reset is in play and whereas before we had owners that happened to be fans, we are now moving towards a much wider community fan owned model in a partnership where we are already seeing that openness in play. The Bryn consortium have put their money where their mouth is as well as bringing in much needed expertise but fans now need to do their bit as well. We are all in this together!
TUST board have played their part helping Bryn to get together but the delay due to not being the preferred bidders from the outset meant Bryn had to act very fast and go it alone. Still much to be decided and agreements drawn up but a new chapter in the history of the club is opening before us.
