And he can takes Downes with him. Hall couldn’t do worse job, could he? It's probably impossible to do a worse job.

Ah right just the 4 is it now theres a surprise🤣 Downes improving our defending no end. FFS get someone In who knows what they're doing,no different than his dumb arse predecessor who ignored the massive defensive shortcomings for at least two seasons and would sooner sign a winger or midfielder than priorities the biggest issue at the back. Pathetic from the players who should be regarding every game ad the most important they've ever played. Its official we are actually piss poor in every respect.

Welling 3-1 up, Eastbourne 2-0 up.
Cannot see us getting anything from the next two games.

It ends 4-1.
Disgraceful.
Need to get somebody in - accepting that we cannot afford to pay them!

Yep, that's 27 goals in the last 11 games. Conceded 4 goals on 4 occasions, 3 goals twice. Can't keep a clean sheet, therefore can't win.

Three second half goals in five minutes against a full time club, what’s that 7 goals conceded against Taunton and Tonbridge.
Sorry Mr Downes, time to go.

Aaron Downes is a nice guy, maybe too nice and I have nothing personal against him but these last two games have just highlighted his tactical naivety and inability to motivate his players. The latest performances are simply unacceptable and I fear he is too close to the players to make the difficult decisions required to stop us conceding stupid goals. He's had how long to get that right? . Its just got worse. A novice in charge when we need fresh experienced eyes to pinpoint and correct that totally inept back line and don't anyone suggest Dean Moxey, a senior figure who doesn't lead or organise his back line. We have a keeper who can look kike a world beater at times but simply doesn't command his box or organise those in front of him. A two season long liability in Marshall and a novice defender who simply isn't up to this level. In front of that lot we have a sluggish but creative midfielder who performs when he's in the mood and the rest offering little protection And we wonder why were shipping goals for fun against part timers. Looking forward to more inevitable post match apologies because nothing has changed from when Johnson jumped. Sorry Aaron but you failed for four or five seasons and your still failing.

3 - 5 - 2 doesn’t seem to be working, go back to a traditional 4 - 4 - 2 perhaps?

The other depressing thing about today is that everybody who might start a game out of those ‘in the building’ barring Booth, were available. I don’t count Martin, Craske and Thomas as they are bench when all fit.
I was keen Lapslie and Dawson could start together, they did, and we were still awful. I am jumping on the bandwagon re Tomlinson as he has been truly dreadful since returning from injury. Narrowing it down to ‘since injury’ may well be quite kind on him. At fault for a lot of goals since Weymouth. I would prefer Booth when fit, that’s for sure.
I do think a firefighter could get us the 9+ points we still need, but I am unsure Aaron Downes can. He is their ‘friendly coach’ and the transition from that to their Manager is something that is not working.
We’re not getting any new players, might lose some and can’t afford anyone for that firefighting role unless they are an out of work one trying to get themselves in the shop window for a better role. Warnock would be an ideal Atkins at this time, but I’d be very surprised if he would be in the slightest bit interested. (I only mention him as seen others mention him elsewhere.)
I’ve already seen us outplayed by Hampton & Richmond once this season. I hope the same doesn’t happen on Devon Day next week. But form would very much suggest another defeat.

I was keen Lapslie and Dawson could start together, they did, and we were still awful…. I’ve already seen us outplayed by Hampton & Richmond once this season. I hope the same doesn’t happen on Devon Day next week. But form would very much suggest another defeat. I always thought that the pairing of Lapslie and Dawson as a strong midfield base would give us a very strong foothold in any game at this level. But that is assuming you play them as a solid two with the defence behind and creative players in front. If you have McGavin strolling around thinking he is Pirlo with Lapslie and Dawson wearing themselves out running around all over the place further up field, the opposition will still walk straight through you. We have seen it so many times that surely Downes is the only person who is surprised that it happened yet again. I believe McGavin may be due a yellow card totting up ban. I really hope he is. If Taunton and Tonbridge find it easy to stroll through our midfield and defence then I dread to think what better teams like Hampton and Yeovil will do. On so many occasions, we have been very lucky to only ship three or four against poor teams. If a good team is on form and our luck runs out …… I really hope we spend the week drilling the players into a solid practical formation that will make us competitive. I fear that Downes believes that we are nearly a good team and that if we keep our style of play then our luck will magically change and we will be fine.
