Unsure re ‘potentially the league below that’ as technically we might be deemed as having already been relegated out of the National League part of the pyramid and subject to whatever the Southern League rules might be? But would certainly seem to be the case if ‘on field’ relegated from National League to NLS and EFL to National League at the appropriate time. I’ve been reading about the relevance of a date late in March (third Thursday?) having entered into Administration (which as I understand it we still haven’t) determining when the 10 points is deducted. ie: this season or the next. I guess with the 7 day window we should know soon which side of that we are likely to fall. If we are not already in Administration, albeit we have notified of the intention, do funds to the Club not fall to the club rather than an appointed administrator at this stage? I know that Osborne announced that anything now is toward operating costs, something an administrator would direct, but is that their choice or is it something they must do at this precise moment prior to Administration, but having notified of intention? I think that date is also relevant in respect of a Phoenix club being set up as well so let’s hope the club can at least be saved in some form or it will be a blank 24/25 season. My understanding is funds raised will go towards the operating costs as part of this process but I say that without any great certainty.

That is certainly what the Club (and yesterday ex-Chairman and current owner, Osborne) have said re gate receipts and operating costs, Rob, and it’s reassuring. I just wondered if that was presently their choice to use the funds in this way or enforced by dint of their notification of intent to enter administration. Does that notification trigger how funds are used, or does administration and the decision of the administrator on entering administration determine it?
I do hope we get a bumper crowd tomorrow. I’m sure there will be ticket sales to people keen just to purchase who may not be able to attend added on top of takings. If anything, a good turnout demonstrates again our passion and determination to not let the mess Osborne has chosen to leave in his wake define us. I feel sure there will be plenty at Plainmoor and a very positive atmosphere. Times like these unite most right thinking people, of which we have many amongst our support.

I think it is the former.
Got a good feeling it will be a very good turn out tomorrow including some of our friends at the other two professional Devon clubs.. Probably quite a few ghost tickets from around the country in there as well. Need to show a United front, not least to attract prospective new owners. Amazed at the support that TUST has received from around the country, all of it very welcome, some of it very tangible.

What a hectic couple of days.
So many wonderful people love our wonderful club so very much, and beyond our own fans there is a huge amount of genuine affection for the club.
The depth of feeling for football clubs is on a different planet from that felt for speedway clubs.
Let us pray that is enough to keep the limited company alive.
The club will survive in spirit one way or another. Let’s hope we take the fast route to a better future and not the very long and winding road.
United we stand, divided we fall.

Lots of musing on Yellow Army Facebook pages and other places on this topic over recent days, as you’d expect.
The positives coming out from TUST today are welcomed. I’m still mindful of anything coming out of the Club at this point as that is essentially still Osborne and Edwards until or unless we have entered administration or a new owner is in place. Something I’ve found myself saying quite a few times on YA fb this last week, as it happens. Nonetheless, TUST’s statement earlier today is well noted and trusted.
Given that NDA’s are now signed, there has to now be a limit on what people are allowed to know and I only hope someone is in the running who won’t subject us to an early lesson in us requiring a multi purpose 15,000 capacity stadium and the like until or unless they have got us to the Football League again. We are way off of that, anyway, and there is much more ground and rocky road to cover before we can be rid of Osborne’s influence for good.
Kevin Foster has been keen to stress how Plainmoor is fit for League football - and by that I take him to mean EFL - and is also reassuring some of his constituents today of the multi party determination for Plainmoor to remain an asset of Torbay Council. Also making sure all are aware of the Fan-Led Review and how that places the lifeblood of any club at the forefront of proper governance.
Even the local press are beginning to understand the need for future owners to be transparent and involve fans. The right noises are being made. We are the lifeblood of our Club. Even if Osborne acted as if we were not. Like many, I so hope him and his influence are soon gone from our Club. On to Weymouth.

Without wishing to appear too pessimistic, I just hope we don't get suckered into being owned by the likes of Chris Kirchner, 777 or Wagmi United. While those particular sharks/incompetents are well out of the running for our club, there are a plethora of similar entities waiting to get their hooks into an English football club and effectively asset-strip it into oblivion. As Virgil* said, "Beware of [insert a nationality here] bearing gifts". *No, not the Thunderbird 2 pilot...

It looks like Rochdale are about to be bought by an American investor.

It looks like Rochdale are about to be bought by an American investor. They own their own ground and the club were asking for £2m. I just hope that for 'Dale fans' sakes the new owner loves football rather than money...

I wonder if the club have spoken to anyone about playing some Truro and Taunton matches at Plainmoor?

link - the club have just released an update on the current situation. Two weeks since the announcement was made about the notice to enter administration and the club put up for sale. The initial 10 day period has now expired and an extension for a further 10 working days has now been obtained giving another two weeks grace period. The good news is that a number of interested parties are undertaking their due diligence and hopefully we will see some results from this soon although it needs to be right for the club and no one wants to see an interim solution. My understanding is that extensions to this grace period cannot be continued indefinitely and I think this can only be done one or possibly two more times so would expect to hear some more definitive news within the next fortnight possibly beforehand.

Would definitely recommend a close read of TUST update recently received on email and posted on here about 45 minutes ago.
Information includes an understanding Osborne saying he will write off all debt and also that a 10 point deduction can trigger under National League rules where a Notice of Intention is served and not just when/if Administration is entered.

Yes, this update has taken a bit of time to come out while waiting for clarification on a number of issues from the club, solicitor acting and FSA with which to update members and the wider TUFC support with during a worrying time. Due to the frenetic pace of events it has become a bit lengthy as well hence the user friendly summary posted on here and elsewhere with a link for those with more time and inclination to read the full picture. Members of course get it all delivered straight to their inbox and great there are now more than 750 of us! Even the Weymouth contribution which is a fantastic but unusual gesture has created a number of pitfalls and hurdles to overcome and that saga is not quite over yet. Hopefully the club can get out of this hole quickly and emerge stronger with a more united fan base.

Well, we now know what the stakes are as we're three points off the relegation zone as of today Bugger and arse “As announced earlier today, Torquay United has now been informed by the National League that in accordance with Membership Rule 13A – Sporting Sanctions, TUFC has immediately been deducted 10 points for incurring an Insolvency Event. This also results in the Club being placed under a Player Embargo.” I think relegation looms after last nights very, very, very, very, poor performance 😢😢😢😢
