When is the new owner announcement due? The day after hell freezes over. May well be. The club talked about it taking a couple of weeks and that was last Monday, so next week?

I know it is frustrating having to wait, but I would be more worried if a prospective owner proceeded to contract without doing proper due diligence.
All we can do is wait with fingers crossed.

Assume a purchaser would need to know what league The Gulls will be playing in next season.

They were chosen by the administrators based on the amount of funding they could provide over the medium term. Whether, the prospect of being in a lower division will impact on that financial commitment is up for debate…..

Exactly, so its highly unlikely that the chosen bidders have said: "£xk if in NLS but slash that by 90% if it's Step 3 of the NL System".

Am I correct in thinking that should the preferred bidder pull out then the TUST bid is still in the table?

That would be the case, Plainmoor Pete, and is always a possibility given due diligence might lead to the prospective owners finding something they don't like.

I am pleased that Osborne not losing a penny has been confirmed by the end of year accounts. I first posted this on here around the 30th March. That man was funded by the big building companies on the hope of some lucrative property deal. My source was correct in every aspect and at last threw light on the Byzantine business strategy of the malign Osborne which nobody could work out until then. He deserves no sympathy and no one should feel sorry for him, he doesn't care about the club, community or fans. He has not put any of his money in. A slimeball of epic proportions, a liar and unethical. Attempted to deploy Trojan Horse tactics amongst the fan base to create division. Some of whom I expect were either seriously misguided or actually paid or given favours to sow the seeds of discontent. True, the club may have gone under had not him and the big builders not stepped in, that I am grateful for. However, the club was in peril again, owned by a parasite that would eventually devour it's host.
Looking forward, hopefully we will have an owner that wants the club to thrive, engage with the fans, maximise all income generation opportunities and invest in the playing side. I am so much more optimistic after the Taunton result. Roll on 24/25.

Let's hope that the new owner is selected without too much delay, so that the new manager can be appointed and he in turn will have time to approach the half dozen or so players who are worth retaining with new contracts.

I am pleased that Osborne not losing a penny has been confirmed by the end of year accounts. So am I. It never made sense that Osborne as a private individual with no interest in football was pumping in @£600k pa of his own money. When this theory of Taylor-Wimpey et al funding the club came about it made perfect sense and as you say is now proven.

Look at GI’s recently released accounts Related Parties note 20. RSL’s “property funding partners” withdrew support leading to TUFC going into administration. £847k written off as an exceptional cost within GI’s accounts and implies the balance (£5m ish?) is down to the property funding partners. find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/00263234/filing-history

Let's hope that the new owner is selected without too much delay, so that the new manager can be appointed and he in turn will have time to approach the half dozen or so players who are worth retaining with new contracts. The new owner has been selected Stewart. They are performing due diligence and sorting out some complex issues. Despite the rantings of a self-proclaimed expert in these matters, the “bidding process” is a little more complicated than an eBay auction. Our hero would have just clicked the bid button at the last second offering 1p more than the next highest bidder, checked out on PayPal and job done. Wonderful comic relief from the real world stresses of hoping our football club survives. Laughter is a great tension reliever. By the way, I have no idea who the preferred bidders are. All we can do is cross our fingers. Change the things we can change, accept the things we can’t and learn to know what we can and cannot change. Despite the constant sniping and misrepresentation from one or two self-obsessed characters desperate to make themselves the centre of attention, the support from our brilliant fanbase and from the wider football world is something that has really warmed my heart in these troubled times. I share your anxiety in the need to sort out the squad for next season ASAP. Having few players under contract would be a big advantage for an incoming manager - giving him a blank canvass rather than being lumbered with other people’s dross. But he would need to get cracking on recruitment pretty quickly or face the prospect of his targets having been fixed up elsewhere.
