With apologies to Oscar Wilde...."To lose one home game against Maidstone Mr Johnson may be regarded as misfortune...to lose both looks like carelessness." Surely it is time for a change of management. This is downright painful.

Surely it is time for a change of management. This is downright painful. Sadly this is TUFC now Stig and yet another new low point. Its no longer the club I once knew. We have an owner with no interest in the football club and is seemingly running it down while creating impossible debt. In my opinion this is an intentional slow burn plan to eventually hold the council to ransom at some point and when no club or a small part time club has no use for FL standard stadium. The covenant will easily be over ruled once the grounds unaffordable and costing the council money to maintain. At some point he will pull the plug, roughly at a point where the land value equals the debt owed and will offer to write off the debt for the ground and planning. That's my theory anyway for what its worth, there's no way whatsoever hes pumped money into the club for football reasons. Garry Johnson would have been gone long ago at any other club with any genuine footballing ambitions.

Well,I didn't see last weeks defeat, but after about 35 minutes of Torquay dominance and some misfortune today, I thought how on earth did we lose to this lot. Then we conceded a farcical goal and it was downhill from there on in. Once the second goal went in heads dropped even further and for a full time squad we seemed to be the ones out of puff.
But hey we can concentrate on the league now!

Thanks petef...I have been a supporter since the early 60s....as much as it hurts I fear your analysis may be spot on. Unless of course another Torquay fan has a huge lottery win or a Hollywood star takes a liking to the English Riviera.Long odds offered. At the moment I would settle for competent management.

I feel for you Stig I began supporting the club during the 66/67 season. The season that followed was incredible though hugely disappointing at the death but my bond with the club was set. We had football loving owners, great management and players and were privelaged to watch some great games in a fantastic atmosphere in a ramshackle ground packed almost every week. Never to be seen again unfortunately and the bond i once had has been slowly prised apart. The club no longer care about the supporters that's pretty obvious and why I have become ever more cynical of late.

Is it Southern League Premier Division South next level down? Yep, but on the bright side Martyn Rogers is available.

You are ruling out the supporters trust. Although we see ourselves as a safety net and a solution of last resort, in the present situation (described well by Petef) it might well come down to that.
