Gary’s desperate search for reinforcements finally got as far as asking his Mrs to phone their son and get him to send someone down.
Looks a decent addition on paper. Dolan seems to have had a tough upbringing and made some daft decisions as a teenager. Unlike many, he seems to have had the strength of character to start getting his career back on track. I hope we can help in that process and he can help us as well as helping himself.
I have advocated McGavin playing further upfield but he does not have the energy and drive to really make a nuisance of himself. Let’s hope Dolan does. Certainly had a good scoring record for a midfielder at Northern Premier League level.
Just need another three or four loanees now ….

Thought Dolan looked very good today. Attacking intent throughout and nippy when on the ball. He was a cut above the rest of the side. Happy with this addition.

Far too many sub standard players in the squad on long contracts that have to be honoured. Over time its easy to convince yourself we have capable players and then, Dolan, a proper footballer arrives and you realise just how poor the majority actually are. Johnson very likely made his mind up on any number of players a good while ago. Hanson, Crowe, Marshall, , McGavin etc hes stuck with whether likes ot or not and they have to be utilised because we pay their wages and whats the pont of loaning them out ? No club at our level or below will take on their wages even in part .. Very poor contract decisions 18 months ago are still affecting us with the "Gaffer" praying that the likes of Hall and Moxey still have enough in the tank to hold the rest of the shambles together. Generally you can afford one or two that are not up to scratch but not half to two thirds of the squad. Yes he certainly dies want to shift a few out but who the hell wants them and in any case we will still have to pay them for playing for another club. Little if any wiggle room for the "Gaffer" he can only wait now until their contracts expire to move them out permanently by which time well could well be hovering around the bottom of the tabe.

link - injury update with Jarvis out for the best part of two months although ironically, that is a lot better than was initially feared. Halstead took it on the chin with just a few stitches and shouldn’t be out for long. Cannot think why communication is suddenly improving at the club?

injury update with Jarvis out for the best part of two months Great news.  That leaves Brad Ash as our only fit striker, unless you count Lewis Collins and his career record of a goal every 13 appearances... [insert banging-head-against-a-wall smiley here] |
