So we start the new year with the reverse fixture against Yeovil with Crowe suspended along with Johnson who will have to sit out the game in the stands. Whether the likes of Hall and Moxey will be back remains to be seen although Lapslie should be fit after coming on as a sub last week. I’ve got my tickets for this game and with 3 home fixtures following should see a decent amount of football in the coming month. link - Wyatt relishing return

It’s nice to see that we can still retain a sense of humour on this site given our current situation. Ok, petef will come along like one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse occasionally, but in general it’s controlled.
On t’other site, Sharkey, Johnson, the entire team and the woman that serves the tea between BB and the Family Stand, are all in league with The Devil it would seem, such is their output of venom on the subject!
Keep it simple…keep it hidden…keep it safe! 🧌

Chelston has bailed on me for this one.
If I was sensible, I would avoid the game altogether and do something less painful instead.
If I was slightly sensible, I would stay at home and watch the livestream.
Unfortunately, when it comes to Torquay United, neither of the above applies.

No idea who has a chance of being fit or part-fit for this.
Wyatt is a very lucky boy. He picked up his fifth booking in his 13th game, but the club's 24th. The ban cutoff is game 23, so he gets away with it. There are advantages to being injured a lot!
Not sure we will get ninety minutes out of him or Lapslie, but expect them both to start.
Crowe banned is a blessing in disguise, but I guess Donnellan will be needed to fill in at right back. If Ellis is ruled out, as he surely will be, we will need two new centre-backs.
Donnellan sums up this season for me. When he signed, he looked like a decent utility back-up man - an upgrade on Matt Buse or Chiori Johnson. Master of no particular trade, but can "do a job" at right-back, centre-back or central midfield.
Unfortunately the right-back, centre-backs and central midfielders we signed are all so bad that Donnellan is miles better than any of them. If there were four of him, they would all be in the starting lineup!
I pray that one of Moxey, Hall or Ellis is fit to hand-hold one of Marshall (is he unfit or out of favour?), Tomlinson or Omar. If we have to perm two from those three, we are in trouble!
I do not feel we can accommodate De Silva, Evans and Wearne unless we drop a striker and play Evans in the hole. I suppose we could try Evans at right-back. I don't think he is up to it defensively, but no worse than having Crowe there.
The sad fact is that we really need Ellis, Moxey, Hall and Lapslie all on the pitch for every minute as the alternatives are so inferior. But that is just not going to happen, so we need to juggle game time for these players more cleverly than we have been doing. Overplay them all and you end up with none of them in the team - and that leaves a very substandard team indeed.

Chelston has bailed on me for this one. Just spent some of the money I would have spent by buying on eBay - Uriah Heep: Very ‘eavy in near mint condition - over 50 years old.

Good band saw them at the Devonport Van Dike Club back in the day as well as Reading Festival. I suppose that is because I am over 50 years old too! 😉

Happy new year to my fellow supporters and forum friends. Lets all hope the tide turns and we can escape the clutches of the NLS trap door. Always the realist its pretty obvious we need a remarkable change of fortunes and results to climb out of this mess and this to start pretty soon. Today Would be the ideal time to begin the process of recovery though its tough to be positive looking at the players likely available and our dreadful season long form. Heres hoping for much better form, good fortune and many more three pointers for 2023.....Bahhhh humbug
