Cracking game
Amazing what 442 with two decent wingers brings.
Ellis was a rock 🪨

A nice win tonight to reward the hard core who will brave the wind and rain to support our team. ... and so it came to pass. Wasn't quite expecting 6-1 though. P***ed down as I walked from the car and we hardy crew were questioning our own sanity for turning out on such a foul night. Very pleased to see us line up with two lively players out wide. We have been so slow and ponderous this season that it was such a joy to finally have a couple of players who can trouble defenders. De Silva and Wearne were excellent. I have felt that Jarvis and Goodwin have been living of scraps until now with nothing at all coming to them from midfield or out wide. Their stomachs must have felt their throats were cut until now and how they reveled in some decent service and filled their boots! The old men did well. Lapslie and Hall are very good players at this level when fit. When you are 5-0 up after fifty minutes, you don't need Hall to play ninety. Ellis and Moxey quality at the back - which helped Ness and Donnellan no end. A better side than Aldershot might test that defence and centre-midfield for pace though. A word for the youngsters on the Pop who get abuse elsewhere for being so supportive. I am glad that they are, and I am sure the players are too. They can take a bow for playing their full part in what turned out to be a brilliant evening. Come on you Yellows!
