So confirmation that Ashley George has left the club and why Nelson has come in from Exeter.
Could have done with the Bromley away game being tomorrow as I will be away in London but will be listening in to hopefully hear our first home win of the season.
Obviously Marshall is suspended. Will Tomlinson start or Hall/Donnellan slot into his position assuming the latter is fit? Talking of injuries, it is six weeks today since Dan Martin got his ankle clobbered at Buckland, time out was assessed at 3 to 6 weeks so maybe he will be fit for tomorrow? As for our other injuries, we could do with either Andrews or Jarvis back again to give us a bit more penetration up front although both haven’t got too many minutes up under their belts.
Think we do have a good side once everyone is fit and probably have done well to get 4 points all things considered. Good to see Lapslie back as he adds a lot to the team but still final pieces of the jigsaw puzzle need to be completed. COYY!

So with another three points up for grabs, I wonder how we’re going to play this? Goals are scarce again, so I wonder if we will try and confuse the ever watchful Boreham Wood by playing 4-4-2.
Predictions are still difficult, (even though it’s a case of predicting only one teams result) except for Setefano, whose knack of predicting our results is uncanny, and has indeed drawn the interest of Yuri Geller.
0:1 to Boreham Wood, who are forever thankful of the sunshine and three points on their yearly visit to Torquay. 🌞 🤟

For some unknown reason I fancy plenty of goals tomorrow though not sure which team will score them! Have to commit more to attack at home tomorrow and as GJ says better to try and win a game and lose though if we can't create and seriously threaten the oppositions defence consistently we will leave ourselves wide open to counter attacks. Like to think Stefano's "Reverse Psychology " will work its magic. Injuries ? What Injuries? The tedious lack of updates continues. While other clubs keep their supporters informed and up to date we are left to guess. Yet another starting eleven I guess and maybe even another mystery player if he makes it past the trap door that is.

Well thank you Poo that is very gracious of you. I had noticed a vast increase in both log in's and visiting guests the day before a game, and until your observation had not detected that this was entirely due to my Nostradamesque predictions. An honour indeed to be given full recognition in the World of Poo!

Can we cobble together a squad of sixteen fit or nearly-fit players?
Marshall drops out of the squad banned. Nathaniel-George has moved on. Even if there are no casualties from Tuesday, which would be a pleasant surprise, we need one of Donnellan, Martin, Andrews or Jarvis back - unless we get another surprise loanee or trialist.
Four points from three games is a solid if unspectacular start. On the balance of play in those three games, one point might have been a fairer return. An optimist would point to a solid looking defence. A pessimist would point to an utterly toothless attack - ever since Andrews hobbled off twenty minutes into the opening game.
So does Gary Johnson stick - keep the back five and hope to scrape a goal from somewhere - or twist and get some effective support up to Goodwin by switching to 4-2-3-1? Or can we get the best of both worlds by pushing the wing backs up to provide some width and play someone alongside Goodwin rather than behind him?
If we go three at the back, Donnellan would replace Marshall if fit. If not, Tomlinson would slot in.
I expect Lapslie and Hall’s pitch time will be rationed again with one starting and one on the bench.
If Andrews or Jarvis were fit, either would come in to play alongside Goodwin. It’s more likely to be a choice between Hughes and Evans.
If we go four at the back, we could perm two from Hughes, Evans and Iseguan either side of Goodwin with McGavin just behind.

Donnellan in for Marshall. Andrews (is he properly match-fit?) in for Hughes who drops out of the 16. Bench unchanged.

Only plus was that, at last, we went through 90 minutes without any bookings.

Only plus was that, at last, we went through 90 minutes without any bookings. Any injuries? Punchless in the final third. One goal in four games and not many in pre season against inferior opposition. A clear warning that we were lacking pace, flair and characters up top. Not sure Garry is a fan of characters in the squad all the signings are young and inexperienced and willing to tow the line without question but look lost at times. So many Midfielders signed for flexibility able to play in a number of positions. Jacks of all trades master of none.... Would like to see an experienced old head front man with a bit of character to lead the line and help the younger forwards buty all we seem to get these days are kids learning their trade.

Hard to win games if you don't score.
