Bit late getting this match thread up due to work commitments. Seems we are about to play the role of kingmaker as we can very much affect the title race against a faltering Stockport who still have the title in their own hands looking for 4 points from their 2 games this week. We will have to play without captain Asa though with Johnson likely to fill in the central midfield position. TUFC match preview |

We cant lose tonight whatever the result with our challenge well and truly over. Just pride to play for and maybe one or two playing for a contract we should be able to relax a bit with little or no pressure on us unlike Stockport who have faltered in recent weeks and maybe more than a little edgy.
Dave Challinor will not be looking forward to this one and in his memory bank will recall our recent meetings against his sides including the 0-5 televised demolition of his Hartlepool troops when were arguably at our peak last season. Big winning margins count for nothing though if you cant follow it through all season and he certainly had the last laugh at Ashton Gate - almost a whole year ago now.
We are sure to be weaker with the injury to Hall but a good game for others to step up to see what they're made of before contracts are offered.
More important now, for us anyway will be the retained list and the names of those who will be looking for pastures new.

Lapslie out so both Felix and Johnson start. Will be interesting to see if Duke-McKenna stays RWB or moves inside with Johnson RWB!

Yep, forgot about Lapslie having his ankle clobbered. Would hope the Duke goes into the middle myself. Good test for Felix.

This could go either way.
With no Hall or Lapslie, we could fall apart if we concede early and take a right hammering.
But if we can frustrate them and get the crowd on their backs, there is an outside chance of a heroic victory if Stockport struggle under the weight of expectation.
I’ll expect the worst and hope for the best.

Super Shaun injured. Let’s hope they can get him sorted during the break. Halstead was on the verge of coming on, but they decided to give it until half-time.
