A very good question as one of our youth players going straight from the academy to another club is something that very rarely happens. The difficulty for us is that he has yet to sign his first pro contract and we don’t have at least a category 3 academy where I think there is some form of compensation structure in place. The answer may be no but I am not entirely sure how this exactly works out…. |

I've been told many times that there is no such things a stupid question. Indeed, I've said that myself on many occasions. Yet the administrator of another Gulls fans forum thinks that this is a stupid question. As is often the case, there is uncertainty about his statement as what he actually said was " "Will there be an fee involved?" asks one of the terminally stupid on TFF of a club that doesn't have an academy.". Does he think you are "terminally stupid" despite the question? Does he think we are all "terminally stupid" on this forum? What about those who post here and his forum: are they also "terminally stupid"? Is it the question itself that is "terminally stupid"? What exactly does "terminally stupid" mean? I've heard of terminally ill, where the illness ends life, but can stupidity do that as well? Are we terminally stupid and as a result choose to read TFF? Is it TFF that renders us terminally stupid? I think we should be told because, unfortunately, I'm too stupid to work out what he means...  Alternatively, he could just answer "yes" or "no". I suspect "no" but, as always, his answer was ambiguous... Perhaps he doesn't actually know himself.  As an ex teacher the behaviour of the administrator of the other forum appalls me. I can only imagine that when he was at school he bullied and belittled others in his class and the school, behaviour that would not be tolerated today. Thankfully schools are now more tolerant and inclusive places. |

I have known the chap you speak of bobgull since we were 13 and can assure you he was never a bully.
Indeed in our school days the biggest bullies were the teachers! Not you I trust! 😉⚽️

I have known the chap you speak of bobgull since we were 13 and can assure you he was never a bully. Indeed in our school days the biggest bullies were the teachers! Not you I trust! 😉⚽️ Yet 6 months later I still am (well I assume I still am) banned from his site for having the “temerity” to stand up to his bullying ways. He is a narcissistic bully, deluded about his own “expertise” on all matters football and too gutless to counter any argument on any other site than his own where he attempts to control the narrative and - like a spoilt child - will revoke your password if you have the gall to disagree with him. Just a pathetic little man. |

Just a pathetic little man. I can only report my knowledge of him Mr Hector, the assumption by somebody that did not know him was that he was a bully at school. He was not. Whatever spat you had with him is between you and him. He has actually got a better grasp than the average supporter on professional football matters having been employed in the professional game and still having his hand in now with coaching / mentoring. Anyway that matters not. He was not a school bully. Mind you my French teacher was! 😉⚽️ |

link - Bit more thought going into the club as to how not to get their academy players headhunted by higher league clubs. Generally two slots are given to those deemed worthy of a pro contract at 18 and a possible hint that they may be given out to the more promising youngsters a bit earlier?

No real surprises: the ones we wanted to stay left, and the ones we were indifferent about stayed. Where we are going to get a good keeper and good striker from is any bodies guess! 🫣
