Its demoralising when you see your better players leave, its always been that way down here and remember the mass exodus to Bournmouth of many key players in the late 1960's that quickly saw our demise as a top division three football club. Success for a club of our stature has its drawbacks and a reason why were constantly on that success /failure rollercoaster. I've just had a quick look at Wikipedia and it says that John Bond applied for the manager's job when Frank O'Farrrell left. What a case of what might have been. Yes, and who did they decide to appoint instead? Allan Bloody Brown who, if memory serves me, applied for the vacant managerial position at another club while still under contract at Luton, who promptly sacked him. Bondy's prompt action in taking half our team, who had so nearly made it into the old Division 2, to Bournemouth, was just desserts for probably the greatest mistake in the club's history. |

Tracey Slough posted a couple of hours ago on Facebook that Louie has been released.
No mention of Olaf - does that mean that he is being retained?

It's rather frustrating given that Gary Johnson has already said all the players know their future. If he said the club will sit down with all players at some point today then we wouldn't expect the retained list to be published until tomorrow or even Wednesday, But given that everyone involved knew what was happening on Friday, why can't the club publish the players who fit into these categories: Offered Accepted, Offered Considering, Offers Rejected, Released?
PS: Looks like Chelston could be correct with High Noon!! Unless it will be during the Night of the Long Knives...

I can remember the days when the club just published a list of those they were keeping. These days you work out who is staying from the advance posts of those who are leaving! 😉⚽️ |

One or two rumours flying about but its looking like a big clear out. Johnson, Felix, Slough, Mackenna won't be here but that all I've heard.
Yesterdays post match interview was very telling from a frustrated sounding Garry Johnson.
Surprised by the open criticism considering that was a team that had never played once together and also of the squad in general and openly he admitted were lacking intelligence on the pitch.
Harsh I thought for a squad that has always worked so hard for him. I sensed he had a bitter taste in his mouth as he knew that the ones he wants to stay are likely off to neW pastures.
Having said all that its impossible to argue with what hes saying we do need better more intelligent players but god knows where hes going to pick them up.
Loyalty to one club is now a thing of the past and it was so good to see West Hams Mark Noble recieve the accolades for his one club career loyalty yesterday.
Who was the last TUFC player you would consider a one club man?
Kevin Hill is the only one I can recall in recent times. It just doesn't seem to happen any more.

The Duke is on loan so that's no surprise, presumably so is Opi Edwards. We haven't had many long-term loans this season, those two plus Stephen Wearne are the only ones to stay into 2022. |

No reason whatsoever to knock the club for that it will all be common knowledge very soon. I even read on another website that we haven't featured or retained our star youth players because it would jeopardise brother Pete Johnson's scouting job  |

If GJ says he hasn't talked to the players yet then we wouldn't expect to know. But that is not the case with TUFC. We were told before Sunday that all the players knew their future. So why can't the retained list be published today? Some players have already revealed their decisions. It doesn't take three days to put together a report so that the fans know what the status of the first team squad is for next season. They want our cash credit card numbers for season tickets asap but they can't keep us informed with details they have already told us are finalised? Plenty of reasons to question the club on why they haven't either announced the retained list or given a specific date and time when they will announce it. |

If people think about the situation logically, it makes sense not to release the names.
I was once in the Hanging Cell, playing 3 card brag with some heavies! One of the heavies had 3 aces and I had 3 three’s….best to tell people at the right time!
