.... and next season we will be playing Oldham who joined Scunthorpe today in dropping out of the league.
Seems like yesterday they were in the Premier League, reaching League Cup finals and FA Cup semis. Where did it all go wrong?

I don’t know the ins and outs of it as I don’t know those teams but it seems to me that there’s so much money being put into clubs even in the lower leagues that it’s difficult for some to compete. Fingers crossed that the recommendations of the IFLR pass into law and create a fairer financial playing field.

Seems that their game was abandoned before the end. If the game is replayed, they have a mathematical chance of staying up. Reminds me of the Dennis Law game when Man U fans tried to get the game abandoned. Result stood, but they were down whatever the score.

No doubt they will reckon they will piss this league of part timers…..

I see it was abandoned due to their own fans invading the pitch and having a sit down. Nothing good should come of that….

Is it possible they could enter the NL next season with a points deduction as a result of today's shenanigans?

New opposition to face next season in the shape of Dorking who beat Ebbsfleet 3-2 after extra time. I can't recall us ever facing them ever but look to be a club on the up with consecutive promotions. Maidstone NLS Champions are old adversaries from when they were in the football league.
A slightly shorter trip for the team and away fans but three more long trips now confirmed after York City won the NLN final beating Boston 2-0 and Scunthorpe making it another three teams from the North of the country in addition to Gateshead to face next season.

Thanks petef.. our geographic location has always been a thorn in our side...long away trips and difficulty attracting players. Don't see that changing any time soon...unless the league adopts North and South League 3.

Thanks petef.. our geographic location has always been a thorn in our side...long away trips and difficulty attracting players. Don't see that changing any time soon...unless the league adopts North and South League 3. North and South isn't the solution. Given the road and rail network in this country only West and East will make travel easier for players and fans. Unless, of course, you live in London...
