A stunning win really with the formation we had to put out and despite all Wrexham’s possession and pressure late on, it didn’t really feel like a goal for them was coming. I’m not sure how often we would get away with that sort of formation; it invited almost constant Wrexham pressure but all the same, that was some result and certainly in view of the opposition’s riches.
How ridiculous do those “Johnson Out” agitators look now? Forecasting a relegation battle and all sorts of woe unless we made the change and appointed the manager of Corinthian-Casuals, Dulwich Hamlet or some other no-mark entities. Those Facebook clowns who wanted someone new when you only have to look at teams like Oldham who change their manager every five minutes to see what happens.
We have one of the best managers we’ve ever had in Gary Johnson and I’m glad the club have stuck with him during a couple of sticky autumns (2019 and 2021) as each time improvement has come. Next time we have a sticky spell (which we will) those bold-font pontificators and loud-mouths on Facebook just need to wind their necks in and let Gary Johnson do his job.

A good result and a surprisingly good gate considering our present position in mid table. The gate would have been a lot more surprising if people could pay on the day of course! 💰
Some people will now be looking up and counting the points to the playoffs again. One stumbling block arrives next week when we play tbc, which is a bit like actors fearing to say the word Macbeth. 🏴

Didn’t think we’d win that one with no recognised striker 😲
Palmer came in for some stick “what a waste of money” but I think the new players will click soon. What a throw that bloke had 😧even Young had a poor game.
Need to beat Dover to have any chance of…

Historically we have struggled against teams at the foot of the league. An away win would keep us in with a chance....

link Shaun MacDonald gets into team of the week on the back of our clean sheet. Actually has had much better performances this season as only had to deal with a few saves in this game but congratulations to him and what goes comes around.

link - on a sadder note is this article whereby once again Wrexham fan(s)were hurling loose change this time at the pitch and remember the referee reporting this to the fourth official in the second half. Even more disgusting are reports of racial abuse directed at one of the better referees we have seen this season and if true hope the culprits receive a long ban as no place in the game for this.

Thought Woking played well tonight in beating Wrexham 2 - 1
