After two dreadful home performances so far this season we could see a lower attendance although the win last Saturday may actually bring back some fans particularly if they can play at the standard of the first half where four goals were unexpectedly scored. As always keeping 11 on the pitch will be key with Hall very nearly falling foul of the ref last time out…..
Johnson seems keen to keep the 4-4-2 going and having a more experienced midfield seemed to do the trick. With Slough going out to Bideford you do wonder if a loanee centre half has been lined up?
Like us Grimsby have now been relegated to the National conference twice and will be keen to make their stay a short one. They have had a good start to their campaign, in fifth place after only playing three games with wins against Weymouth and Barnett but also with a good way draw against favourites Stockport showing their resilience against a classy attack.
Hopeful of a good quality game tomorrow…..

This game would have been regarded as the toughest of our three opening home games so who's optimistic? Our home form has been pretty poor for a good while now evnen last season we had a few stinkers - possibly the way we leave ourselves more open and exposed when committed to attacking our opponents. Needs a rethink in our approach if we no longer have the weapons in our armoury to push teams back for ninety minutes as we used to do in the NLS. Was hoping to see an addition to the central defence dept. With Slough being loaned out we look desperately thin in a very crucial, weak and vulnerable area.
Need an experienced Branston type, a leader IMHO or we will continue to ship goals.

After two dreadful home performances so far this season we could see a lower attendance.... It'll be interesting. Usually we have higher attendances against former EFL sides than we do against clubs who have never been in the EFL. Last time we played Grimsby at Plainmoor was in October 2015 when we were doing poorly and the gate was 2003 with just 1641 home fans. If we got anywhere around that again then the club will really have to rethink its admission policies regarding the one hour before kick-off bollocks.

Looking forward to this one with a degree of trepidation. A proper club with proper travelling support who should make a good atmosphere.
Any repeat of the inept performances against Altrincham and Woking would see us massacred.
Quietly optimistic that we will actually turn up for a change and I expect a tight match.
Won't be too many changes and I hope our middle two of Lapslie and Hall are fit. Will we stick with the narrow formation and two up top?
Maybe we will, but I would bring in Martin wide left to protect Moxey and leave Holman on the bench.
That would leave Little wide right and Lemon in the hole, with freedom to interchange. Last Saturday was the first time I can remember these two playing well together - let's hope it isn't the last!
I haven't given up on Holman. He knows where the goal is and there will be occasions when we can afford start with two out and out strikers. Today, I would like him to come off the bench for the last 15-20 minutes and score the winner. Not too much to ask, is it?

Liability Ali Omar seemingly at fault for the equaliser. Let’s hope a replacement is lined up for Tuesday.

Another two goals conceded in the first half hour more to come I predict. No leadership at the back and without changes at the back we will be in trouble.

Now who could have imagined we would lose by another three goals today. Nothing being done to resolve the massive problems in defence. Inexperience, poor hurried signings and the loss of so much of the core of a very good side has done for us as feared. Dover will be overtaking us at this rate. Yes Stig agreed we're in big trouble and wonder if Garry's budget has been massively reduced after our failure in the play offs as nothing appears to be happening to resolve the big holes in defence.
Watched one game so far I'm trying forlornly to kick the habit. The spirit and fight GJ's teams usually have was non existent- that was enough for me the problems were so embarrassingly obvious.

I always like to look for the positives. At least that performance was less bad than the previous two at Plainmoor.
I wish we had double-banked Moxey and Martin on the left.
Nice for Lemon and Little both to have license to drift from the wing, but it meant we had precious little width and it meant our full-backs had no protection at all.
Efete had a great time marauding down the right unchallenged and ganging up with Sousa two on one on Moxey. His goal summed it up.
Amazed we kept in with a chance of a point for as long as we did - and actually came within millimetres of equalising.
We were down to our last 17 today and picked up another four or five injuries. Will struggle to fill the bench on Tuesday without reinforcements.
Looking shakey defensively and desperately in need of some pace in the squad.
Playoffs looking a long way off at the moment.

Out muscled and out paced all afternoon (again). Our tactics (again)seemed to be to play the ball high which were easily cut out by the Grimsby back four. Grmsby would play it on the desck and within 3 passes were knocking on our goal.
Thought the Grimbsy front two (29 and 10) caused us problems all afternoon. Very Kieffer Moore.
I wonder what would have happend if that Joe Lewis 'tap in' had gone in to make it 2 - 0.
Agree with Jon that our wingers don't give that extra cover to Moxey and Winter and it wasn't as bad as the Woking game!
Lost count of the injuries, Holman, Moxey, Little, Keeper. Where was Lapsi?
Solihull Moors next stop...

Add the loans of Slough and Koszela to the already growing injury list and we'll be lucky to fill the bench at Solihull.

FA Trophy it is then! Got to have something to aim for! 😉⚽️ That’s not the way we do it at TUFC Setefano. We wait until we’re twelve points clear, absolutely storming the league, guaranteed champions and then we take an interest! So no interest this season! 🐷
