Sheaf and Street not making the bench. I wonder if we will hear that they have returned to their parent clubs at some point during the week? Pointless either of them being here Rob. If they are not considered good enough for the bench with players out, then they should return to their parent clubs. Left back and left midfield required. Not that I have too much confidence in any of our fit strikers getting us out of our current slide. Whitfield looked to have taken a knock as he came off.

We didn’t lose. Play offs at best now. Resigned to it. Hope no longer killing. Sutton now 8 points clear of us with same number of games played as no point in thinking those Dover points and game remain. Sutton got a harder run now, get back to you at Easter about that 😉

Yes, I would be surprised to see Whitfield take to the field on Tuesday. He was moving none to easily as he came off. I know he is small but I wonder if there is actually room for him in the physio's room!

I know he is small but I wonder if there is actually room for him in the physio's room! After Whits took that knock we lost any threat we had. Toothless up front i dont see Boden as the saviour hes far to static. We look mid table at best too many players have lost form snd ant belief in what they're trying to achieve. Needed the three points badly today cant fault the effort but we just look lacking in all the things that we had in abundance just couple of months ago.I see the season petering out now more than i see us rebounding to mount a challenge most sides we have played of late look far more effective than we do now. If Whits is out for any length of time we just as call it day now. I noticed Sparks and Blissett scored the goals that beat Chesterfield and Mark Ellis got the winner for Notts County.if we had some luck first half of the season its certainly disappeared now!🙄

When we won the penalty, I felt we would win if we scored it and lose if we missed.
Desperately in need of something going right to get us back moving in the right direction.
Rode our luck in the second half to hang on for a point when we really need to string together a few wins to get the confidence back.
Not a 3-5-2 of conviction, but just reshuffling the square pegs into different round holes.
With only three fit defenders, it was worth a try - and the back three did o.k.
Without going into a full-blow Dave Thomas Andy Gurney and Paul Gibbs ramble, you need wing-backs to play 3-5-2.
Neither Randell nor Whitfield is a wing-back. You would not want Whitfield at left back, so no surprise he pushed on far more than Randell making it almost look like a 4-4-2 but with no width on the right.
The benefit of having just one wide on each flank is that it gives you an extra two players in the middle.
You wouldn't have known it on Saturday. Two strikers did not combine much or create much threat, but in fairness got very little service. Three in centre-midfield would seem to be a great way to accommodate Little and Lemonheigh-Evans with Hall ball-winning. You would imagine them taking it in turns to sit with Hall and bomb forward to support the front two. But neither seemed to know what they were doing and fell between two stools - failing to link midfield and attack.
Time to abandon the 3-5-2. All we need is another fit defender....
