It has been an excellent start to the season and we come into this game on a run of five straight win and with perfect timing we have climbed to the top of the league for this game where we get extensive coverage from BT sports.
With a winning combination I cannot see Johnson making too many changes for this match. It was good to see Wright have a good game and get a brace and his position is now nailed on. The only question for me assuming everyone is fit, is whether we start with two strikers or possibly, my preference, play CLE in the hole or in an advanced midfield position with Hall and Randall playing behind him.
It will be interesting to see whether Waters makes the bench and no doubt Little will be on at some point in the second half as he continues to gain match fitness. A very strong bench on Tuesday helped make the difference and I can see us finishing strongly in games this season when for years the reverse has been true.
Hartlepool had a very good start winning the first three games of the season against Aldershot, Chesterfield and Maidenhead. They have drawn their last two games though against Bromley and rather surprisingly on Tuesday against Altrincham. It does mean that they are now the only unbeaten team in the league so an added incentive to win as well as to maintain our position at the top of the league!

My son has just let me know that last time we won against Hartlepool was in the 2000/01 season! Quite a few games in that time as well. We are overdue for a win!

Probably too early in the season to be talking about"big games" but a good result at Hartlepool would make it difficult to discount us as promotion contenders.

It will be interesting to see who starts after Tuesdays "Jekyll and Hide" performance and much improved second half showing. Hope we can keep the run going though this would appear to be our sternest test to date and its live on TV. Hartlepool showed what they can do as they demolished Ilkestone Town 0-6 in the FA cup. Watched a bit of it and they worked hard and showed plenty of quality for this level.
Hope were finding a way to keep the players fresh and hungry through this very busy early season schedule.

Bit longer to wait for the game today. In the meantime, rest of the league kicks off but a few games are postponed including the Sutton game meaning only Stockport are able to leapfrog us today as they play Weymouth so maybe one to keep an eye on.

link - according to Dave Thomas still too early for Waters. Will that affect the formation?
