Marketing, huh, what is it good for?
So the official website states: "one that has Torquay United AFC written – quite literally – all over it!" As far as I can tell from the pictures it clearly doesn't. What it does have is the seagull badge woven into the fabric which is a different thing altogether.
It's a small price to pay for a new kit that features "the most unique of colourways". Whatever that means.
I don't particularly like it because the blue is the wrong shade, but I expect many disagree with me..

I think the away shirt works better because you are only dealing with two colours (albeit there are various shades of blue).
The home shirt has three colours so is more 'busy' and a bit of a dog's breakfast as a result. If they swapped the blue bits for yellow on the home shirt it would work better.

What seems quite amazing is that we have a kit produced by Puma that appears to be bespoke. Obviously, this has come about through Pro:Direct and the home kit has the nod to the yellow and white stripes of the past combined (possibly, anyway) with those stripes being a representation of the Marine Bridge pillars, plus the badge hidden amongst the fabric. I think it works better on the away kit but I am growing to like the home kit as well. I think it's generic, I can't see the badge incorporated in the fabric looking close up. As for the pillars of the Marine Bridge they look more like walrus tusks. As for Pro Direct I was wondering if we had ended out relationship with them seeing that 1899 has been replaced with the SDC logo (and I can't imagine we're getting much in the way of sponsorship money for that). Basically a crap regional league shirt for a crap regional league club. The shirt is definitely bespoke and is still connected to Pro:Direct. The badge is incorporated in the fabric (one of the press releases for the new kit shows this) and it would echo the repeated TUAFC incorporated into the fabric of last season’s shirt. |

As a PE teacher for over 40 years I have noticed a tendency for the yellow team to lose more often than other colours.
This might explain why Tiger Woods wears red.

I’ve been saying that for yonks Trig, yellow is not a colour that inspires great deeds and daring do…imagine if the SAS wore yellow, it would then be a case of Who Cares Who Wins! Imagine if the Welsh Dragon were yellow…that would be a case of Poof The Magic Dragon! The latest shirt is hideous… no other words can describe it. 🙈 |

link - away kit get a promotional outing. Had a look to pre order. Not many size options left (mine isn’t left) that haven’t sold out for the away kit. Different story for the home abomination with the horns. All sizes still available for that. |
