Danny Wright back in the squad for the Easter games and reported to be 'highly likely' to be on the bench for the game against Woking tomorrow. Some good news at last ⚽️ I expect there will be a match day thread along in a bit 😉⚽️ There is! 😀 link - Nice interview with Lewis and always a good sign when a player wants to sign permanently after been on loan with us. What a good signing he is and where would we have been without him as he has covered the full back positions before taking over in central defence.

link - Congratulations to Sam Sherring who has made the national league team of the week. We don't want players in that too much risk of unneccesary injury

Sherring is a quality player. Well deserved. Expect to see him playing at a higher level in future.

link - In this Dave Thomas interview with Gary Johnson it does mention the two injuries to CLE and Kimpioka where it is hoped that Connor’s is not too bad and while it is Benji’s other hamstring to which he originally injured who knows how long he will be out? They will probably join our injury list of Davis, Nelson, Cameron, Whitfield and Nemane this Saturday. I am assuming Warren is fit again as he played 1/ half in the Exeter friendly so our defence is looking pretty good, particularly as I don’t think Cameron is that far away from fitness. Dave Thomas reported a week ago that Cameron, Nemane and Whitfield were a couple of weeks away from returning so we could be back to more or less full strength by the end of the month.....

Missed that DT report Rob hope its accurate and not speculation. With two more on the injured list we desperately need some big guns back to make a serious challenge.

It is strange but if we beat Weymouth on Saturday that will be 15 points from the last 6 games, on a par with the first 3 months of the season where we had 38 from 16 games but with key players out and playing no where near the same level we were at before but no complaints if we keep winning. Also takes time to get those from longer term injury both match fit and sharp. Probably means our wingers are going to be ring rusty, more so Nemane with the longer lay off. You do wonder if playing Wynter and Law as wing backs, particularly with Wynter now seemingly back to his best and Law described as a wing back anyway may be a short term option for Johnson to consider now that Warren and Cameron are or shortly will be available again.

Our injury situation continues to improve with Cameron back on the pitch last night. His goal scoring threat at set pieces means Johnson has a difficult decision to make in defence which is now at full strength again and the proof of the pudding is just 3 goals conceded in the last seven games. Hope the Law loan can be extended so Moxey can be managed in this final push.
Discounting the long term injuries of Nelson and Davis, just waiting for Whitfield, Nemane and Kimpioka to return, all quality players that add something to the side. Little is playing better in the middle and with Andrew’s and Randell contributing with assists and goals out wide and Wright playing the lone striker role with support from CLE we are now replicating the early season shape and form. The sooner those three are back though, the better, so as to provide cover and rest in the crucial and high intensity finish to the season.

CLE is a big player for us and we saw the best of him on Tuesday. I do keep reading on social media that Nemane is out for the season though which would be a blow would love to see them all back but with just six weeks of the season remaining i guess we wont be seeing one or two.

link - a bit of a shame that Law has gone back to Plymouth argyle. I think it has something to do with his club wanting to assess him to see whether they extend his contract for next season. I am sure we will be interested if they don’t. He came just at the right time and not only participated in our recent successful run but gave Moxey that little bit of extra time so that he was not rushed back. With Cameron and Lewis also able to play at left back we do at least have a bit more cover there.

Thought Ryan Law did really well. After a slightly nervy start he gradually got into his game and gained confidence with pitch time. There's no substitute for experience though and Moxey has been pretty good since his return from injury and has been solid when we needed it his consistency and fitness will be vital for the run in.
Love to see Davis back, as good if not better than Moxey IMHO. Still no news but its not looking likely it must have been a pretty awful injury for him to be still struggling for so long.

Can't really see him being offered another contract for both those reasons. Shame, as he was one of the leading lights during the promotion season and was instrumental in helping to establish the style of play which GJ wants.

Genuinely pleased for him. Improved during his month here with us and helped us out of a hole. One of our better loan signings this season.

link - bit more news on those injuries. Danny felt a twinge on the same hamstring and Johnson does not know how long or short for he will be out. Minor injuries for Cameron and Little as well with the latter closest to being back. Problem being 4 and of our last 8 games take place over a 9 day spell starting on Saturday and no Wright for all of them will be a big miss.
