Possible GJ may bring a new face in but we will probably not know until the team is announced on Saturday!

GJ has said he is thinking along those lines, particularly up front. Can’t remember where I read that. Torbay Weekly link? Would imagine simon was riffing on how GJ has tended to operate, tj. The classic being first game of season with three new loanees announced when team list entered for Stockport. Edit - Yeah, was Torbay Weekly.

link - looks like the incoming of Boden will be balanced by Kerr leaving to go back closer to his home in Scotland. He has been okay when playing for us and done a job but injury has seen him contribute very little over the course of the season and now with the permanent signing of Lewis, has dropped further back down the pecking order although this week we have only been able to field 3 fit defenders and that has included Wynter back after a 2 month lay off. It may indicate that the prognosis for Cameron is not that bad, possibly weeks as opposed to months out or that Warren and Moxey are close to being fit again.

It was very much a patched up team that was put out yesterday and although you could argue that we had six out of our first choice XI – CLE, Whitfield, Hall, Randall Sherring and Wynter, two were playing out of position with Wynter at centre half and Randell at right back. Probably no coincidence that their goal came from turning away from Wynter at centre back and then around Randell at right back. In defence only Sherring was playing in his proper position!
Further up field we are only missing Nemane on the right and Wright up front but both key players. Wright may be back in April and May so remains to be seen if the experienced Boden can do a job there in the meantime. Nemane was injured against Altrinham on 2nd February with a “tight” hamstring that needed to be managed but a month later no sign of him. Would be great to see him if only on the bench initially but frustrating that his injury was not just a few weeks of recovery time.
We certainly have the players to beat any team in this league and just need enough to be fit! Defence is the worry. With a bit of luck Lewis was out due to the concussion protocol and if Moxey is also fit then suddenly have a decent back line again. Kerr looks like he has played his last for us so important for Warren to be fit in the short term until Cameron is back as that would allow Lewis to also cover left back as I get the feeling that Moxey’s hip will not be able to endure the Sat-Tues-Sat schedule.
Covolan is training again and should be challenging for a start well before Hamon is due back. Not sure if the QPR goalie will be around for the next month but cannot recall us ever having 5 keepers on the books before!

link - Kerr off on a permanent deal to Chesterfield, tied in to the Boden deal. No at all surprised inevitable that one or two signings just don't work out. Good luck to Kerr who managed to get a contract closer to family though Boden as I understand it was a remainder of the season loan. No great miss to be fair as he's hardly featured and we have an abundance of players that can play in that spot, Warren Sherring, Lewis, Wynter, Hall etc - when all are fit that is! Hope its an indicator that Cameron is not far away but who knows, the injury situation is all a bit of a mystery these days. Certainly need some bodies back for a tough second half of the season or we will slip even further away from top spot with the challenging teams now finding good form.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see another new face in the near future once the loanee goalie returns to QPR? The next six games are looking to be pivotal this season in terms of aiming for the championship of the league. Four at home, two away - we need at least 15 points to keep on top of the pack (assuming challengers flounder slightly). If we do not get near max points, the playoffs may be where we end up!

This is what worries me the most, the lack of confirmation from the club regarding the true nature of all the injuries and how long the players concerned are expected to be absent. Most unlike the normal protocol really.

Danny Wright to undergo testing this week to see if he can resume training with us, could be only a few weeks away! Also Moxey, Lewis and Little should all be fit for the Hartlepool game on Saturday and has been a long time since both full backs have played for us and will make a difference to our defence.

The potential for a back four soon of Wynter, Lewis, Sherring, Moxey is indeed good to know.
