I am wondering if the Covid outbreak at Palace has delayed the Robert Street loan. Hopefully we will see him in a Torquay shirt soon. Looks like a good addition. Maybe but Johnson likes to play his cards close to his chest and if the element of surprise can see us gain 1 point over the course of a season which could be the difference between being promoted then I am all for that.

link - confirmation of Rob Street joining us, sounds “quality” and hopefully will help us take the road back to the league.

Great news. Looks like an exciting addition to the squad. Best of luck to him. Hope he settles in well.

link - in this Devon Live article by Richard Hughes on the Street loan signing he also reports on the injury situation with Wright who is now due to have an operation on his hamstring confirming it is quite serious. Seems that Nelson and Davies are still early on in their rehab and will be struggling to play any meaningful part in the season. In keeping with players taking longer than initially estimated to return, Wynter who last played on the 1st of December against Wealdstone is only now running again and not yet training with the other players so sounds like he is at least another 3 weeks away. No mention of Little since his Boxing Day injury but I will take that as a positive and hope he is well on the way to recovery.

Surprised no mention of Armani Little not sure how to read that one, hope its a good sign. Frustrating to read Liam Davis is still a good way off and Ben Wynter is still trying to return to match fitness and barely kicking a ball yet. The injury jinx strikes again though I do believe were are in a far better position to cover than we were a year ago. Any more long term injured though and we really could be struggling. I do think our total commitment high energy style of play has contributed to our injury situation but wouldn't swap it. Pretty obvious one or two paid the price in the last game at Yeovil on a stodgy pitch. CLE and Ben Whitfield in particular showed some signs of fatigue in that one and I felt even though when they put their foot on the gas pedal their bodies simply waere not responding as usual.
This enforced break should hopefully help the high energy players to recover a little of their zest and the likes of Moxey and maybe one or two others who have been carrying knocks to get back to full fighting mode.

link -with Little out injured for most of the season so far, Randell has become a very important cog in midfield and really good news to hear he is signed for the remainder of the season. Sherring is the one we really need now particularly with Wynter still a few or several weeks off.

Great news regarding Randell. Wouldn't surprise me a to see at least one more addition other than Sherring who we really need in the squad for the remainder of the season, however long that may be. He has done great but isn't really a wing back and it does limit us a little on that side offensively. Need him back partnering Cameron which I thought looked the best central pairing.

Fully agree and our minor stutter of late maybe influenced by the loss of Wynter. link - Dave Thomas reporting tonight that it is expected a similar deal will be announced for Sherring.

Great news. Hope the injured list shortens soon. Think we paid our dues on injuries last season.

See we've been linked with Max Sheaf from Hull City on loan. Good player. Young attacking midfielder.

See we've been linked with Max Sheaf from Hull City on loan. Good player. Young attacking midfielder. Just seen this on Twitter. No harm in it if true and potentially a big plus (Is CLE getting a move/Little setback in recovery/what of Jake Andrews all potential talking points) as sounds like he did well at the level above last season. A Cheltenham fan considers him too good for National League having no doubt seen him during his 22 appearances for them on loan. www.hullcitytigers.com/teams/first-team/midfielder/max-sheaf/

Strengthening the squad is not a bad thing with heavy pitches and a tight schedule (hopefully) coming up. We are in pole position and want to keep things going with injuries recently just pulling us back slightly.
You do wonder/worry if anything, as Rob has mentioned above, has triggered this but does mean the midfield three can be rotated more and not have to rush Little back. Think Andrews is there more to cover on the wing where we have two very good players but their high work rate makes it very tough to keep that intensity going for 90 minutes three times a week. Not sure if Sheaf can provide cover out wide as well.
Well thought of by the Cheltenham fans during his loan there last season and you would hope he can do a good job here in a very competitive and combative position.
