Is Nelson still injured (please no jokes regarding eye and arm)? Now has a shoulder injury Phil. Here's the latest... The ball struck the epaulette on his left shoulder, and penetrated his chest. He fell with his face on the deck. Captain Hardy, who was on his right (the side furthest from the enemy) and advanced some steps before his lordship, on turning round, saw the Sergeant Major of Marines with two seamen raising him from the deck; where he had fallen on the same spot on which, a little before, his secretary had breathed his last, with whose blood his lordship's clothes were much soiled. Captain Hardy expressed a hope that he was not severely wounded; to which the gallant Chief replied: 'They have done for me at last, Hardy.' - 'I hope not,' answered Captain Hardy. 'Yes,' replied his lordship; 'my backbone is shot through.' Sorry Phil couldn't resist....  Other than that that its a complete mystery as to whether hes still at the club, released, signed for next season or whatever.. |

when addressing GJ.?
Not sure it's been used at his previous clubs.

Does anyone else dislike the term gaffer when addressing GJ.? Not sure it's been used at his previous clubs. Also an informal name for an elderly gentleman, so it be reet. More importantly, how tall is GJ, because every new player seems to be a couple of feet taller than him. |

Think it means the boss man generally older than his subordinates so quite appropriate really. Also title given to chief electrician on a film set… |
