link - part 3 with Gary Johnson. Includes highlights of our win against St Albans at the end of last season. Very enjoyable watch, we won 4-0, hit the woodwork twice, had a penalty saved as well as numerous other chances and really showed why we were the champions. It was a good chat with Gary looking at the situation with the national league season now finishing and speculating about the yet to be disclosed options for promotion and relegation. What was good to hear is it seems that some of the players contracts have been extended so they qualify for the full furlough period which makes sense as there is no actual cost to the club itself. The watch word from Gary seems to be continuity as he is looking to keep most of the squad together with two or three marquee signings and a few younger players to make up for the loan players that we will lose. As and when the new season starts this will put us at a big advantage as we will have a settled squad particularly as many others have been dispersed with. The squad is still very young but of course with another year’s experience and without another injury crisis we could easily transform from a mid-table side to one challenging at the top. Roll on the football season!

Episode 4 - Bit more confirming that the majority of players have accepted contracts for next year with just a couple leaving and another couple still considering their options. Their contracts actually end today so need to renew if they are to continue getting paid in this period of uncertainty. We should find out a bit more early next week on the state of play. Johnson also mentioned that they will be looking at bringing back the loan signings that worked well for us. Lewis and Vincent top two for me. CLE is up there but quite similar in style to Little who hopefully will play a bigger part this year.

Aaron comes over as a really great guy with that typical chilled Ausie demeanor.
Works well with GJ and feel confident we have a great management team.

Probably a coincidence then that it looks like the black limited edition shirt I bought a year ago for £65 because I thought it looked quite smart, only to find 2 months later they brought out further identical design shirts in yellow and white selling at £40. I am so aware of online scams and phishing attempts I do not notice something right on my doorstep!  |
