ATB I have no doubt that the people in this clip are among the world's most eminent experts in their field, but sadly nothing that they said answered my question. This was an unknown virus which obviously had to be tackled on a trial and error basis, with particular emphasis on "data", a word which crops up frequently. Nothing was said about why they were sure that the vaccine would work before anyone had received it. It's rather like wondering whether or not someone would like the taste of whiskey when drinking it for the first time. Incidentally, I'm pleased to see that another recent thread has now become defunct as truth and common sense have finally prevailed. |

It is a coronavirus, like SARS, MERS, and the common cold. The Chinese helped by quickly identifying the specific DNA makeup of COVID-19 and making it immediately available to scientists across the world. The indication so far is that this vaccine is a fair bit more effective than the annual flu vaccine.

It is a coronavirus, like SARS, MERS, and the common cold. The Chinese helped by quickly identifying the specific DNA makeup of COVID-19 and making it immediately available to scientists across the world. The indication so far is that this vaccine is a fair bit more effective than the annual flu vaccine. Keep in mind that the flu jab that millions have every year is a new vaccine every year as flu changes every year |

Yes I realised that flyingull I didn't want to over complicate it. Another thing to remember is that none of these things actually go away. Bubonic plague and Spanish flu still exist in the modern world. The 200 plus years we have had of vaccines and even more so in the last 50 to 75 years has been a giant leap in medical science. A counter argument I suppose is that the world is now massively over populated so the planet would be better off without them! 😉

Sorry wasnt trying to complicate anything its just hightlights human nature i guess that all these peopke 'not wanting a new vaccine' are happy yo have the flu jab which new every year and as such the long term affects are not know (using their logic).

As I have so cordially been asked to continue to post on this thread, I have decided to return...so you can relax now Jon.
I have also decided to make my posts less inflammatory, less confrontational and have more of a temperance feel about them.
So I will start by saying...what the hell is wrong with you people?
I mean come on! A virus that was started in a Chinese lab, and the basis for the new wonder drug/vaccine also made in a Chinese lab!
Surely you can see...I mean come on.
I quite like the new me. 😉
Oh, I hasten to add...I never have the flu jab either.

Thanks for your reply, but your words might suggest, that you don't understand that all these vaccines have gone through strictly controlled 'in-human' trials often involving tens of thousands of people before they are approved and released for use with the general Public. Trial criteria are exhaustive.

Reg whilst it's highly likely that the CV-19 virus came from the Wuhan Labs maybe via the wet market, there is a WHO team in Wuhan atm trying to determine that finally.
As for the vaccines, I say three cheers for the European and USA scientists and Pharma Companies that are developing them. To imply some sort of China plan around the arrival of the virus and the supply of the vaccines just doesn't hang together at all.
Funnily enough, I have never had the 'flu vaccine either.

I only had the flu jab for the first time this year the 4th year of eligibility. It was a good excuse to get out of the house and it seems to be working.
I had not had it before as I am generally in good health and have never previously caught flu. This year though I thought perhaps I ought to given that it is possible to catch both flu and covid at the same time, both can be fatal, and catching both together did not seem appealing. 😉

I truly am aghast with what is said on this thread.
So the WHO are in China are they? Is this the same WHO who’s (sound like a bloody Owl there) boss was seen shaking the hand of the latest Chinese Chairman Mao? Is this the same WHO who (I’m at it again) had their funding stopped because they were quite obviously telling porkies about this whole COVID thing? Is this the same WHO...I’ll stop there because I’m beginning to sprout feathers.
So if the WHO say that Covid was started when an eighteen legged fly (quite obviously a mutant from a market somewhere) landed on the arse of a Wombat and had a shit there...you’re going to believe them are you? Indeed whatever the WHO say...you’re going to believe them are you?
I’m going to put up a song on the appropriate thread, which pretty much sums up the people who believe one word of what the WHO say!

I didn’t play that song Pete because of the utmost importance I place on the views of my fellow posters.
Also, after a little Google (I know, I promised I’d stop) I noticed that there was a bit of a communication breakdown between my fellow posters and myself. My fellow posters were referring to a different WHO...ie to a small shop on Weenow St called Whu-Han Optics. Whilst I was referring to the World Health Organisation, or as their better known...Whoever’s the Highest Offer.
There has not been a more corrupt organisation on this planet since the three Olaf brothers (Wheatear, Squinting and Smellyarse) tried to work out the combination of their sisters Chastity belt, way back in 837!
Who was the last person who was in charge of the WHO, Brutus Brutus Brutus Galaxy or some bloody thing...and he was as bent as a Nine Bob Note! Strangely enough, so is the present one, because if you look closely at the picture of him and the Chinese guy, with one hand he’s shaking hands, and with tother, he’s shoving a rather fat cheque into his back pocket!
Now we come to the crux of the matter: How can my WHO continually get away with corruption on an almost Biblical level...well I’ll tell you. It’s because people don’t want to hear that they’re a corrupt load of Bastards...it’s because people don’t want to talk about the fact that they’re a corrupt load of Bastards...it’s because people don’t want to see that they’re a corrupt load of Bastards.
