It was quite noticeable today that Keating was given a run out in the forward position as opposed to on the wing and not too difficult to see why. With Edwards due back next game and Andrews who is our third highest scorer out on the wing then it can be seen that Keating will not have too many opportunities here barring injury. I suspect that Edwards will initially be used as an impact sub on the wing as he regains match fitness,
However, I think Keating is very much in the picture upfront. From the Johnson post match interview today it seems he’s not presently looking to bringing anyone new in and who can blame him with his side on 10 consecutively league wins. Reid and Janneh are on fire at the moment and need starting so we only need an impact substitution to supplement them and with his style of play and commitment to the cause I feel Keating is ideal for this role and good to see him get on the scoresheet today as confidence can work wonders as shown by Reidy this season,

Mr Johnson tells us he isn't looking to sign anyone . Well that's what he tells all who're watching on social media ! It's not just Torquay fans who listens to Gary !! Wouldn't be surprised to see at least 1 come in before end of Jan & with a 2 week break, who's to say a fortnights incognito training with the squad isn't in the Johnson bros thoughts !!! I suggest watch this space !!!!

I am both thankful and delighted that we now have a manager of his calibre at Plainmoor. The mindset of the owner changed completely in his appointment of Johnson as opposed to Owers a year earlier and you could say he went from one extreme to the other both in the appointment and appointment process. I don’t think you can put it just down to experience although I think this was a factor.

He was never going to join us last season because he was contracted to Cheltenham town. And more importantly, there was a different mindset within the walls of PLAINMOOR at that time. We have him now, so be thankful for the small mercies that fate decides I was just being hypothetical. Please don't patronise me with the 'be thankful' comments. I know he was at CTFC, but we all know that contracts in football mean diddly squat, as they demonstrated by sacking him after only 4 games into this season. I wasn't being patronising, I was trying to point out that at the time of your thinking , the basket case that was TUFC had no inkling whatsoever of who GJ was or where he was based. We were a small minded football club with people in charge who were way above their paygrade, Gary Owers, Who had the personality of a skunk with ass ache. Martin Khull, who looked as if he was in a permanent state of disbelief at the ineptness surrounding him on & OFF the pitch. Geoffrey Harrop, why was this man let anywhere near the day to day running of our club ? So obviously out of his depth, could've caused irreparable damage, but thankfully commonsense prevailed. What if ? is a pointless question.

Cracking game and another game where you come away disappointed that it was only 4 nil One game this season some teams gonna get pumped. As sendings off go, that was cracking as well.

Once again a very pleasing and enjoyable watch though first half I didn't think we were quite at the races and thought that Assa Hall looked particularly off of the pace when we stopped passing the ball and started hitting a few aimless long balls though we dramatically improved in the second half. Sloughs tactics were to frustrate and stop our rhythm which seemed to be having some success until Harris there No 9 lost his head. What followed was a lesson in how to put a spirited and hard working ten men - away and do it with aplomb. As you say Phil I also get the feeling we are really going to "pump" someone at some point with the quality we have and the chances we are creating. If it really all does come together in one game I fear for the opposition . Lets hope its at Woking!! I doubt this winning streak record will ever be beaten.. What a magnificent achievement at any level of the game and they all look so determined to improve on this amazing winning run. Were being spoiled and each week the expectation levels go up a notch and incredibly the players respond with each challenge. Bath City will no doubt be a tough test they looked decent when we rather fortunately if I remember, narrowly defeated them earlier in the season. Seems very odd these days to having absolutely nothing to moan about....

link - interview from Baker the Slough joint manager with his views on the sending off but also very complimentary about us - a proper league club and he would be shocked if we didn’t win the league being among his quotes!
